OK how is Bobbly Shuttleworth there? He is legitimately below average in MLS.

Some stats regarding Robles:

- Number 2 in saves

- Number 2 in shots faced

- tied for most penalty kicks faced (10), with 2 saves

- Finished 4th in 2013 MLS GK of the year

The New York Red Bulls previously kicked around Major League Soccer as the MetroStars with limited success. But after transforming under a new banner in 2005, the Red Bulls have become a force to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference. The club has made leaps of progress since its previous incarnation and now has its focus on bringing the league title to New York. Is there any in this rout with authority to treat with me? Or indeed with wit to understand me?

Clearly someone has not seen any RB games.  IMO, Hamid is the best GK in the league at this point.  He is the sole reason DC finished first in the east.  They were an average team, a team that picked up points on Hamid's performances alone.  In his previous seasons he was prone to errors, but this year he matured and turned a corner.  I would be shocked if he's still with DC next year.

OK how is Bobbly Shuttleworth there? He is legitimately below average in MLS.

Everyone raves about how good New England's offense has been, no one mentions Shuttleworth.  Go watch the highlights for the playoff series against the Crew and see how many saves he pulled off.  And he's been doing that through there pre-playoff run as well.  Their defense isn't great, like ours, but just like Robles does for NY, Shuttleworth keeps them in the game.  He deserves to be on that list, and certainly should be above Steve Clark.  I have no clue what Jon Busch is doing there.  He was a good keeper once, but he is past his prime at this point.

IIRC, he's the worst keeper ever.  Or maybe that was...

To be honest, I've always considered Robles an adequate GK, but not a worldbeater.  after he fixed a few mistakes in his game last year, I can't remember any howlers coming from him.  But neither do I remember any matches where he stood on his head and gave us points.  I can remember matches every year from Tony Meola 1.0 or Howard (of course) whre I walked away saying thank god for our GK or we would have lost that one.  Robles, not so much.  But a steady golaie is not a bad thing when we have other more important holes to fill.

I guess we'll just have to taunt Shuttleworth to the point of complete mental breakdown....again.
