The scary thing is that this team needs a lot of work and that's even assuming they somehow keep a happy Long and Kaku. If (when) they depart, almost the entire team basically has to be rebuilt from the ground up.

Is Kaku the answer? Maybe it's best to sell and try another route... just no more wasted money on Danish wunderkinds.

When Marsch was here and the press was turned up he was one of the most dangerous attackers in the league.
Armas needs to go.
If the new coach wants to insanely press you keep him.
If not, then maybe you still keep him but slot him out wide and bring in another legit CM.
Of course if he wants to leave...

I dont think this team needs a lot of work if you bring in a good coach who wants to okay the way this team was built for 3 years.
Add another DP CM and retain everyone else. That could be enough.

What's "enough" mean here? Enough to scrape into the playoffs again? Maybe. But enough to actually compete for a title? I don't see it.
If we assume that literally everyone we have now stays (extremely unlikely), imo we are still at least a DP CM, a DP striker, and a few depth pieces away from becoming contenders again no matter who the coach is.
Adding just a DP CM recreates the team that Marsch, one of the best coaches in MLS history, still failed to win an MLS Cup with.

Well add that to off season musts then.Anyone who watched him play in USL would agree.
He's not even a USL quality player. He's Dane Richards 0.5, not even 2.0. He can run and that's it, he can't pass, can't take on defenders and misses goals my 3 year old would make.
Cut him so other guys get time
Fire Armas
Jettison Murillo
Retire Lade and BWP
Spend some damn money on actual players who will actually help us on opening day.

More tarps.
Just close the entire upper deck.
2019 turnstile counts cannot have exceeded 10K.
We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

What that looks like and how deep they go hard to say but thats what I think happens
Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

We had more than 10k for the vast majority of the games.

I would love to see the genuine numbers.
I cannot imagine them being higher in 2020.
We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Anyone with any ideas for coaches? I'll throw some candidates out there -
Woly is available
An out of the blue candidate I thought about - Roger Schmidt. Has the ties to Ragnick and RB, he was previously in charge of Salzburg. Ticks the box of the pressing style. Champions League experience at Leverkusen. Most recently managed in China and had a decent amount of success there, so you know he is capable of working in unfamiliar surroundings.

Stroud is probably a better version of Bezecourt, still probably only an MLS rotational piece.Immediate changes;

Yanes, no not ready
Tolkin probably still needs more development
Lema, meh
Rito, good going forward but not a great defender and coming off a serious injury.
Dont think the 2s have the answers for us at the MLS level, wouldnt be surprised if our FO thinks differently, however.
