I can't wait to hear the same 6 songs over and over and over again.

It's so inspiring. #sarcasm

The US was one of the first teams to arrive in Qatar. The European contingent will join Monday.

Beyond the US advancing out of the group stage my expectations are minimal. Establishing a solid core of experience for '26 and seeing if Berhalter is a war time general are equally important IMO as a deep run in Qatar. Beating Wales simplifies things in the group stage for Berhalter; a loss or tie and the remaining 2 games becomes an audition for keeping the job beyond Qatar.

As far as the Wales/US game itself, as goes Bale so goes Wales. I see the US scrapping for a 2-2 draw with Bale bagging another late goal a la the MLS Cup final.

The US hasn't had a truly good performance against a real opponent since March.

Wales has won twice in 2022.

1-1 draw, both goals from set pieces.

Here's hoping Long plays and breaks the trend:

I just hope we're up 2-0 or something late. As we saw from Bale in the MLS Cup Final, even with the injuries all he needs is a half-chance late to get a goal, and I don't want us nursing a 1-0 lead for the entire second half thinking that's enough, only to be cruelly reminded that it is not. For as long as he's in the game, we need to be super careful about giving up any set pieces.

That said, I think we pull out a squeaker.

Christian Pulisic has been waiting for this game for a long time. Time to sack the fuck up, put the country on your back and prove you're truly the man. Go out there and crush 'em.

This game wont have a ton of goals imo. Pretty worried eagles sets back and hits us on counter for a goal. Need musah to help pick the lock here and get wingers in space. Or some corner kick magic.

Long Zimm and Weston are good at attacking set pieces which is a plus

Ream had observer status on both ManU goals today.
Not really at fault, though. Had a nice header and could have had an assist, had a bicycle kick scored.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

As long as we don't  ask Adams to mark him on set pieces, we should be ok
