in the same vein, i think ppl wanted a duo that produced more goals and assists than the Grella-Sam combo did. We've got Royer doing his bit on one side, but still looking for the complementary piece on the opposite side that can try and match Royer's offensive production.
Would've cut it close timeline wise, but imagine if RBNY had purchased Brian Rodriguez from Penarol's U19 team when it bombed out for Ignacio Pussetto? BR signed his Penarol contract beginning of last yr. Wouldn't have cost RBNY $11m nineteen months ago when he penned his 1st pro contract or during July 2018's transfer window. Would $5m for 80% of his rights been enough thirteen months ago?
Also, twice now they've tried to get a stadium naming rights sponsor. Proceeds from that couldn't go to acquiring the next prospect to be sold in 18-24 months?
Nonsense. I'm not shitting on Armas, he's had a lot of headwinds this season, but it is perfectly logical to say the roster isn't good enough, and Armas is underachieving. Scoring a lot of goals is not the same as winning a lot games, and many of our wins have not been the type that inspire confidence. We may be 3rd in the East on points (nothing to proud of) but are 9th overall in PPG. Bookmakers don't have us any better than that to win the Cup, either.
New York Red Bulls +2000
we've had some serious garbage results at home this season and on the road.
shit results at home
shit results away
NE loss (when Friedel was HC)
you can throw in the losses at TFC and HOU, but both of those were multi-goal leads.
too many of these inconsistent results is why the fanbase is kinda feeling down despite being 3rd in the East, 4th on PPG. and it's the inconsistent results that makes us a long shot at winning MLS Cup. they can't prevent EVERY shitty result, but it's the collection of shitty results that'll prob not even get us a CCL spot next yr, and merely a spot in the Leagues Cup.
