#1371530 Metro - Scum Game Thread

Posted by Sasa Curcic's Watch on 13 September 2020 - 10:53 AM

Jorgensen was invisible. Added nothing. RB global scouting is really good for Salzburg and Leipzig no idea why it can't be better for us. Don't see how Jorgensen was a rated prospect in Europe at all and this is based on his RB2 minutes too.

We've seen plenty of minutes from all our forwards. Brian White is at least a backup MLS forward at the very least maybe at best a Will Bruin type career. Barlow is USL quality and Jorgensen is who knows what.

Still curious to see what Tetteh can do. Hope he can get some minutes maybe off the bench in one of the next games.

Curious to see how this formation would work against a real team, not DC. Nealis has had two games only against DC so taken with a grain of salt but he has looked pretty good.

Good thing about this formation is it helps Kaku and relies on our fullbacks for width not our nonexistent wingers.

Feel for Meara going down, he had a great game. But the one spot we have quality in is gk. Jensen and Meara are starters in this league.

Hvaen't read the thread but I'll just throw my thoughts out sorry if any points are repeated -

- Overall performance wasn't the worst, should have been good enough to get a result all things considered

- Disappointing lapse from Long, goal given up was way too easy for Philly. Can't afford those moments when you pretty much have to keep a shutout every game in order to get a result.

- Created a decent amount of chances but it's clear that we just don't have enough difference makers in the attacking third.

- Considering the above point - it's still fucking crazy that Kaku doesn't start. Give him as much time as needed to create something.

Want to see White get more of n opportunity. I feel that his solid season last year proved he should be getting minutes up top over Barlow or over Royer playing out of position.

Thelwells at the wheel. Ill take action over inaction even if it doesnt work out.

You miss 100% of the shots you dont take

It's funny that no matter who is in charge, we still end up taking RBS/RBL leftovers.

Dude you dont understand, we arent signing older players.

Or signing anyone for that matter.

#1368301 Why was Sims returned?

Sure in US sports you will have guys traded and they'll have no say in the matter.

But not in international soccer. Players don't get transferred against their will. Same concept applies to this loan. Simple as is.

fuck it, make peace that we are stuck with him for this lost, crummy season. hopefully he will be gone at the end.

Yeah pretty much this season is a lost cause. Clean house and rebuild properly for next year.

Sims was on a loan and clearly his heart was set on going back to England. I don't see what we could've done to keep him here.

The fact that we only extended his loan halfway through the year and that our only attacking addition was a half season loan is what should make us angry, not Sims wanting to go back home.

Could we trade for Mason Toye from Minny as they just added a DP forward Luis Amarillo (would rather a DP forward ourselves but just wondering) and have another back up ?
Of course the reason Im posting is the DP fwd just pulled up with adductor and Toye is starting

As far as the MLS options, this has always stuck out to me as the most realistic and best option in terms of a trade. Surplus of forwards in Minnesota, he's a young talent, and most importantly fits into the way we play. Don't know what would be required to give up in a trade but do it Hamlett. Barlow is a reserve MLS forward. Toye has much more potential.

I wish. This is what Leipzig and Salzburg do. We're not really doing that. How many college draft picks and non-academy USLers have been (or could have been) sold for profit in the entire league in the last 5 years or so? The one guy on RBNY this could apply to, Aaron Long, is ironically the one guy they've bent over backwards to keep.

Yeah we should be so lucky as to be run like Salzburg and Leipzig, in terms of acquiring young talent be it local or from all corners of the globe and developing them.

Was it purely an MLS-ESPN-Disney connection thing?

We have a good history of winning tournaments at Disney, the 2010 preseason right?

#1365469 The Coronavirus Thread

I do. There is a lot of fucked up (and downright appalling) shit out there today. I just want 2 hours of normalcy (misery?) per week.

There's been so much misery with the Covid outbreak and now the police brutality, but there's just something just so comforting about being disappointed by Metro that is missed so much.

#1365468 Jesse Marsch to RB Salzburg Official

If he does the League & Cup double in Salzburg,
there is nothing left for him domestically.

That's the bare minimum for RBS, their goal is progress in Europe maybe making it out of the UCL group stage for the first time.

And I don't buy this rumor. That would be too big a leap for Jesse I think. But plenty of previous Salzburg coaches have moved on to bigger jobs but none as big as Dortmund.

#1365374 Did you watch the return of German soccer?

I'm not in favor of the fake crowd noise. Would rather hear the natural sound of the game and the players talking and reacting. The piped in stuff is too artificial and adds nothing for me.
