lost in all the hoopla was the way Etienne scored - low hard shot. Typically, he'll try and blast it upper 90, and more often than not he will miss badly (case in point - the 1st half shot he took).  Low hard shots are the bread and butter for a good striker - hopefully DE7 realizes this and will start to take more shots this way.

It wasn't a message to Etienne. BWP was hobbling around after getting his ankle stepped on and rolled and looked like he may not be able to continue. They were getting White warmed up to potentially have to replace BWP.

Well it should have been a message to DE7, he was horrendous in the 1st half. Literally acted like he was worn out half way into the 1st half. Drifted constantly into the center and beyond, constantly exposing our left flank and giving us no width. No heart or hustle. I would never start him again ever unless he corrected the error of his ways.

I'm not disputing Etienne's poor first half performance, but saying that White was warming up to send him a message is factually inaccurate.

I wasn't arguing with you, just making sure I added to the DE7 story. He must have compromising pictures of Armas or something because if I coached him he would not have made it out of the locker room for the 2nd half. While Orlando didn't capitalize if they had scored a goal against us from Etienne's side it wouldn't have surprised me a bit given his defensive dereliction of duty.

We got away with that against Orlando, but in a playoff game against a strong opponent we could have problems.

Nice goal, but...

Just watched the highlights. The one thing that stood out: Orlando's Goalkeeper was wearing #99. That feels so confusing and wrong.

Wayne Gretzky just said he wasn't good enough to deserve to wear BWP's #99!
Let's Go Buffalo!!!

Armas figured we could get the W without yanking DE at half and destroying his confidence.

If he had Ivan warming up, that maybe would have been a message.  DE was playing outside, not up top, where White plays.     It was 100% about BWP.

And again I agreed it wasn't a message to DE7. He SHOULD have gotten a message.

First superstar with "99"

edit: there is an obviously photoshopped picture with "21". That's bs.

here are some more pics. He used "99" throughout.

Armas had another problem at the half, as there was video of him tussling with another player.
After the game, it was all good:

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

In the All-Access video on the Red Bull site for the Orlando match, you hear Armas twice picking DE7 up, telling him to forget the PK miss, don't worry about being subbed out, and that the team had his back.  Armas has pushed all the right buttons recently, hope that continues for five more games.
