on the upside, he looked genuinely happy/ecstatic/relieved to score that goal as he celebrated with his teammates on the sideline.  good to see that his hard work is paying off

Very, very happy for Veron and hope he gets a few starts now, especially if BWP is hurt. Can't necessarily count on him starting to score in bunches, but hopefully this is where he turns a corner and starts proving his worth.

Hope the injured guys aren't too badly hurt.

Really think Duvall should be starting at RB over Zizzo. I'd probably rather see Bilyeu than Lawrence at left back right now. Taxi has had a huge mistake in almost every game this season, and while the plan wasn't for him to play 90 yesterday, he sure didn't look great early on given the two howlers.

The less said about the refereeing, the better. Gets my blood boiling. That said, making a habit of losing 2-goal away leads isn't helping us too much.

ugh, wrong thread

dunno what was the bigger celebration, his argy fist pump after heading the ball in against NYCFC at Yankee Stadium or the "VOILA" arms spread celebration at Stub Hub Center last nite.

Had a hell of a game on Saturday and now he starts tonight alongside BWP. Maybe we'll see some flashes of that preseason connection between them? I'm guessing based on the lineup they'll be in the 4-2-2-2

Was non-existant this game.  Though a little more lively than SWP and Etienne which did not bring anything to this game.

Veron is good, but as of now he has proven to be tactically inflexible.  And unfortunately he is not good enough atm to make me want to displace BWP or Sacha so he can be in a spot where he performs best.

They bailed on the 4-2-2-2 within about 15 minutes, and Gonzalo was lost on the wing again.

They could very easily sell him back to Argentina, but likely at a financial loss. Is RBNY willing to admit defeat and take a discounted return?

Or, could he quite possibly be traded within the league? I could see a lot of struggling teams taking him.

They should have as well...

Every time we use that stupid formation we suck.  Wish they would give up on it.

He's proving more and more to be most effective alone, up top... where we already have BWP, and now  Damari.     Still convinced he could be a top MLS talent, just don't know where he fits here.

Yea he's not really effective at the wing as it minimizes his strengths, which are strong runs and combining with Kleijstan into space.  That's harder to do on the wing if there is not a focus to use him in a similar way.  However, he's been very effective the past month and is very confident on the ball.  On Damari, I agree that it seems like there is a logjam with BWP, Veron and the Israeli.  Drunk Shep mentioned that Damari typically likes to play withdrawn, but from the little we've seen, Damari plays more like a striker who leads the line rather than somebody in a withdrawn striker role.  My major concern is burnout for Sacha, as we are very dependent on him, and outside of Felipe nobody excels in that role.

Having said that, Marsch has shown that he's flexible in how he deploys his team and trying out tactics. The five man backline failed over and over, and he stopped using it for example. I think he'll keep on tinkering and try to see where the lineup goes.

we have quite a few options up top, with GV, Omer and BWP looking to get quality minutes. 9 league matches, 2 CCL, and whatever playoff matches are all that's left. let's not run guys into the ground, pls.
