We Are in Last Place

We have played all but two of our games in our stadium, and all but two with America's best player. We have several games in hand, we have played three times against the two worst teams in the league, we have the most rabid support in MLS and play in the best facilities in the league and if you read BS we are the beneficiaries of an eleven year long conspiracy and we are still in last place.

With Chivas' win and RSL's draw last night, the Galaxy are now in last place. Bottom of the table. Back of the bus. La (or is it Le?) Lanterne Rouge.
i had originally thought the same thing, but then recalled MLS' continued need to be different than other leagues around the world. when it comes to ties in league position the first tie breaking decider is the head to head record. as we're 1-0 over chivas we fortunately get to retain a modicum of respect at only being second–to–last.

We have several games in hand
No we don't, we've played 9, second most behind FCD, who has played 10. In our conference alone, two teams have more games in hand than we do, with Colorado having only played 8 games and Chivas USA with 7.
In other words, we don't have any games in hand advantage over anybody, really.

For purposes of comparison, Real Salt Lake and Red Bull New York are currently at -3.

Fucken Sampson.
Shit is just going to keep getting worse [ losing to Chivas ] until we drop that incompetent coach on our bench.

That's what I meant. My defeat addled brain reversed the words in my head and on my keyboard.
I didn't know that MLS broke ties by head to head and not differential, but as others have said, by the time Chivas and RSL make up the games they have in hand to us, we'll be last.
First to worst. Craptastic.

Hey, we've got something in common!
We don't have anything in common with New York - we're just slumming with them at the moment.
Chivas & RSL at least have the excuse of being expansion teams. New York has sucked since MLS started.
The Galaxy is not an organization that will accept being a perennial bottom dweller.

LA and NY do not deserve to be compared, they are on opposite ends of the spectrum

It doesn't matter how simplistic you make your point, there will be someone who misunderstands you.
