We're gonna need one of the role players to step up and do something unexpectedly magical in order to smash the smurfs tomorrow.

What the hell happened to our club? I can understand a slight letdown, but first to worst? Does Arena have a side bet that he can pull a Sampson - win a double, get fired in mid-season next year? If Tim Leiweke wanted to give another "What the fuck is wrong with you?" anti-motivation speech, who's to say he wouldn't be right to do so?

LAFFO!
Only Sampson can pull a Sampson!
I miss those chants, they would roll off the tongue so easily...."FIRE SAMPSON".
We lose today, we may have to make this a "rebuilding year".

Sadly, the "rebuilding" is scheduled for next year. Salary cap-wise, the G's are built to win last year and this year. Next year, they are going to have to dump a ton of salaries. Buddle will be too expensive (allocation funds can only be used on the first year of a player's contract), Keane will get dumped. I doubt they will pick up Beckham's or Landon's option straight, they will only keep one of the current DPs, unless they can't get enough from Everton for LD, then he will be brought back.

the only comforting thing i've read is that the 2009 season saw us with only three less points at this point and we ended up in the cup... course that was a different season with a bunch of TIES...but hey... "always look on the bright side..."
