This is different than what he said when he was at Everton. I think Klinsi has helped LD remember the soccer abilities that make him important on a team. It's been a while since a manager reminded him of that."My job has always been to be a creative attacking player." Landon after USMNT victory. Doubt he feels the same when he plays with the G's.
I think this is actually more like Bruce's second stint with the National Team. He seemed to have decided how each player should play, how good each player is and what they are good at. Didn't seem to be able to see how players change and develop.I completely agree. Donovan needs a coach that can coach him, not the other way around.
We are starting to look like the Nats in 2006
LD's game has become much more diverse and complex. Early on he was good at playing high off the shoulder and getting in behind. He can still do that on occasion. Then he became really good running from deep positions. Then he added the ability to see the field and switch the ball intelligently. Then he started to track back on defense and force errors by the opponent. Then he added service to the box and on set pieces to his game. Early on he scored his goals on breaks behind the defense, later he developed the ability to shoot from outside the box. Then he started to get more goals with his head, looking for those types of opportunities. Now he has added the combination play and runs off the ball during possession.
I'm not sure Bruce's may still see him as a transition and break behind the defense kind of guy who learned to play defense. Now he's a hybrid #10 who needs to be allowed to commit completely to attack when he wants to.

Should it be Landon? Should it be Landon and Kean?
Not sure, guess that depends on how much AEG thinks they can get for them and what they could acquire in return. Either way, much respect to Landon and all he has done for the Galaxy and USMNT.

If ever there was a season to make the stupidest move in MLS history, it would be this one.
Don't count AEG out on this one yet...

The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which "unskilled people reach erroneous conclusions and make unfortunate choices but their incompetence robs them of the metacognitive ability to realize it." The unskilled therefore suffer from illusory superiority, rating their own ability as above average.
