After last weeks attendance this week was pretty dissapointing

RBNY got 35,000 which was great considering the weather but lets see how many come back for a shakiraless game.

DC got 11,990 which sucks but they do play in RFK.

Houston added another solid attendance with 20,000 but keep in mind it is their second game ever.

Colorado got 12,000 which is about avg for them.

Galaxy got 19,000. This confuses the crap out of me, they are the champions, they have a SSS and it was firework night.

Dallas got 14,000. I think Dallas might have the worst fans in the league. They have a decent team in an area with a huge population and they play in an SSS but have only sold that stadium out for the first match in it. It's kind of embarresing.

colorado has had the most pathetic numbers since day 1 (not counting that 4th of july firework show they have that bumps up their average)

i wouldnt worry about the Galaxy, 27k and 19 for the second game isnt bad when u think about it (many are saving it for chivas next week maybe)

dallas is really dissapointing. They have a soild team and a SSS. Not to mention the best hispanic player in the leauge (14k home opener on a sunny 70 degree day?)

DC should be drawing more, they have had nothing but sucess since day 1, BUT..DC had the same shitty weather we had and it was their second home game.

Too early to tell but the numbers arent really all that bad

I know this statement is going to be 'attacked' but, Dallas was competing against a Cup race this weekend. Poor planning on the leagues part to put the game up against the race. The race attracts well over a 100k for the event and its an entire weekend deal. I'm surprised the game had as many fans as they did.

DC's weather was atrocious. I wouldnt have gone to a game like that if the weather was that bad up here.

Thats another good point. The weather in the VA area was absolutely brutal all day on Saturday.

Come to think of it, I think the first match in their new stadium was a reduced capacity sellout. The building was still incomplete, and because of that they deemed it necessary to sell only 14,000 tickets for some reason or another. I could be wrong.....

Yeah, this is crazy. As a former Burn season ticket holder I can remember back in '99 (before they drove away the Hispanics) 16-18k being the norm and 20k a few times a year.

From Soccer America comes a depressing stat that ought to really bother the folks that run FC Dallas: The DALLAS CUP U-19 Super Group opening day drew 17,105 fans to Pizza Hut Park Stadium as Manchester United downed Real Madrid, 3-2, and the Dallas Texans Red beat Mexico's Tigres, 3-2. So Man U, Real Madrid & Tigres youth teams draw better than the home town top flight team. Not good.

J.T., could you expand upon this statement you made?

before they drove away the Hispanics

I'm just curious what they did.

I have no idea how true this statement is but I was told that hispanics do not "feel comfortable" in Southlake (a rich suburb of Dallas) when they moved to Dragon Stadium for a year or two.
