Well I'm ready for this season to begin, especially after this season's debacle by the Galaxy.

I'm looking forward to seeing if Kansas can repeat. The good kind of repeating, not the G kind.

I'm going to feel really conflicted when USC beats UCLA. It may not happen this season, but I think it will happen in the next few years.

On the other hand, Cal Basketball has more in common with Bruins football this year:
a mediocre recruit class based on a prior coaches negligible gravity
a new coach with a lot of expectations
no one expects them to do well, so nothing to lose

The difference is Mike Monthgomery is actually a good coach whereas Rick Neuheisel isn't.
I'm a little sick he used to be Stanford's coach, but if he brings success and good new recruits to the 'good' side of the Bay, I will get over it.

Unheralded Cal is knocking on the door of the top 25... Their record is 13-2, with their longest win streak since 2003 at seven games.
Let's see how they do in League play as 2009 heats up. So far they are 2-0 in the Pac-10.

Here's one I REALLY like...

Harvard upset #17 Boston College 82-70.

HARVARD.
They don't even have scholarships for basketball, do they?

Their star player is an Asian kid, Jeremy Lin, from Palo Alto.

Cal beat Wash St tonight to go 3-0 in the Pac-10.

Patrick Christopher off the bench to get 22 pts.
This isn't a first rate team, but they sure are punching way above their weight.
