There was like 30 people there. Was it really that bad?

The rain was beyond awful.

It was also Christian Family Night or some other such nonsense. There were some God Rock bands playing to zero people in the parking lot.

Faith and Family Night on Aug. 14

http://www.mlssoccer...ly-night-aug-14

The MetroStars -- along with New Jersey's largest Christian radio station, Star 99.1 FM -- will be hosting their first ever "Faith & Family Night" on Sunday, August 14 prior to the 6 p.m. match versus Columbus Crew.

"These days it's important to recognize the American family and the faith that holds it together," said MetroStars President and General Manager Alexi Lalas. "This is an opportunity to celebrate that faith with family and friends while enjoying a wonderful night out at Giants Stadium."

The pregame Faith and Family festival will take place outside Gate A of Giants Stadium and will begin at 3 p.m. with a pregame concert. At the concert, there will be special performances by Christian bands such as Pure, Just Passin' Thru, Jennifer Garcia, and Runaway. Also performing will be the Bobby Lewis Ensemble who will sing the national anthem before kickoff of the MetroStars game.

Following the match, the Faith and Family events will continue with inspirational messages from MetroStars players- including defender Tim Regan- and an on-field musical performance.

"I am looking forward to participating in the Faith and Family festivities," said MetroStars defender Tim Regan, who has appeared in 14 games this season. "It should be a great night for everyone to come out, have fun and enjoy an exciting MetroStars match in a family-oriented atmosphere."

The tilt between the MetroStars and the Crew will be the fourth and final meeting of the season between the two Eastern Conference rivals. The Metros lead the season series, 2-1.

Faith and Family night?   I think there is no question who was the worst GM ever with Nick Sakiewicz right behind I think.  When was the Technical Director position erected?

I didn't trust my memory (surprise) which is why I went and found the press release. It was as sad as it sounds. Positive note, I have a friend who went to his first soccer game because he wanted to go rip on religious rock bands. He's been into the game ever since. Thank God.
