Good idea. I need to place to stay as well for about a month. Plus I really could use a Portuguese translator.

A noble spirit embiggens the smallest man.

That's killer. I was just at H & M yesterday and picked up a pair. That David Beckham is a rather handsome gentleman.

Beckham Ejected

The red-card ejection came after Beckham criticized an official for tossing a 7-year-old from a game scheduled before his son Romeo’s.
“I was like, ‘Come on, he’s 7 years old, referee, you can’t send him off,’ ” Beckham said.
“He looked at me and was like, ‘Yes, I can,’ ” he added. “And he came over and gave me a red card. He told me to get out of the park. For real.”

In eight years of playing seriously and 27 years of coaching, I've never been sent off. Perhaps I should go to a U8 game.

In the two games LARS played yesterday, there were close to 25 yellow cards and three sendings off.

Beckham is right. You don't send off U-8s or even U-12 for a foul. They're not old enough to be vicious.

...ooooh ooooooooh we are the riot squad...

Something similar happened when I was 12. The game was very hard fought, fouls going both ways. I slide tackled some kid and won a throw in and before I got up one of the other parents got in my face and started to yell at the ref. One of the dads on my team grabbed a cooler (full of capri suns, water, and orange slices) and threw it at the parent on the field. Then all hell broke loose and the game was abandoned. The parent one my team was also a body builder. Scary dude when he was mad.

When I was a kid I thought fighting was part of soccer - like its a part of hockey. Every other game there were fists flying. Our coaches were so worthless I think they advocated it too.

This is why I will always base my argument that having high level games played on TV will help kids grow into better players. We didn't have shit. Our coach had to bribe us with Dairy Queen if someone headed in a goal.

Perfect example of growing up and playing youth soccer in the mid 80s.

If you're not creepin', you're not trying...
