Sorry....RIF
It would help if I just read page 1 wouldn't it.
Crazy how I can vividly remember the two misses but can't even remember the one we scored successfully last year.

Yes you're right he did mention the arena then so I'll take that one back. The rest still applies though.
Wrong about another thing. "finishing 1st in the east once and got bounced in the playoffs right away anyway."
2000 they lost late in game 3 of the Conf Finals in Chicago. Hardly 'right away'
Videos and interviews get edited to portray things a certain way all the time. And being a German news organization I'm sure the majority over there are Nein zu RB und modern fussball and edited the video as such. I understood the point trying to be made about spending even though the facts were slightly off. Much like the above with your post. I get what you are trying to say even though we did go far in the playoffs in 2000. It was not right when they bought Leipzig, but as they rose in the German Leagues, the spending on players changed here and the approach changed as well. Was that because of money going toward Leipzig or "business metrics" results here. I don't think we'll ever get a finite answer. However I like the new approach and for me, developing and playing local talent has made this feel more like my club and helped with the identity part being discussed in the video.
All that being said Red Bull still has unnecessarily brought all this upon themselves by how they choose to name teams after their company and market merchandise.

The truth is we drubbed a team better than Chivas in the quarterfinals playing our game. The best strategies generally take the players you've got and puts them in position to do what they do best.
The truth is that we were outplayed in Tijuana and somehow managed to score on our two only chances and they didn't on their many. Made the 2nd leg a much different affair and why we were able to drub Xolos, because we could do what we did best. If Xolos had the aggregate lead, the 2nd leg probably would have looked like last night, which looked like so many other 2nd legs the team is chasing a goal and the opponent just sits back.

The Crew do suck and just because they beat us in the playoffs or a MLS cup final isn't a reason to not give a shit about what is happening there.
They have a dedicated hard core fan base the same as we do.
If it can happen to them, why can't the league move our team down the line?
We are a MLS 1.0 team and don't sell out our stadium either. We generate very little buzz in our local market.
What if Red Bull wanted to get out and the league bought the team and folded it or moved them away so that they could reboot and start fresh again with a new MLS 5 or 6.0 team at that point. If the Chivas USA / LAFC blueprint is super successful, why not try it here after learning from what worked/didn't work there.

Hi all,
Hoping MFers can help out an older timer here.
I am a finalist for a chance to win a free trip to Wolfsburg to see the team play Bayern Munich.
VfL Wolfsburg is of course the team where ex Red Bull Claudio Reyna learned how to do all the little things and it had to be where Bob Bradley was scouting Andry Juskowiak so he knew that he wanted him for Metro. It is also the club where Clint Mathis met his lovely wife, as she was playing for the VfL Ladies at that time when he was nearby in Hannover scoring goals and pointing at watches.
The winner will be the one with the most likes via FB and Twitter.
Any help appreciated...

LOL, can anyone imagine other MLS teams saying #saveredbull if we were going to lose our team?
No. But if we were the Metrostars today and news broke that today the Red Bulls planned to buy and rebrand ..........You would see #SaveMetro or something to that effect across the league.

And for the original 10 its never been good.
Sporting KC is an original 10 team. They figured out how to get out of the 1.0 mold. It is possible (but not for this team under current ownership direction)

The crowds have been brutal this year.
Not the sole reason alone but schedule has been a bit too congested recently. 7 out of the past 8 weekends there has been a home game and then we go like 3 out of the next 12 during the summer months.
I think the 3 weekend games in the next 12 weeks will see much better attendance.

Yes. You are more into soccer than me. That's it.
And Ted is more into soccer than all of us because of his fanaticism of Pro/Rel ....because in terms of being a 'real' soccer fan

I remember late in the year when we were gunning for our first ever trophy - the one that is more meaningful than MLS Cup.
The way Henry showed up in Seattle and played the game on that crap turf field........

I'd be surprised if no one takes Duvall.

Wonder how Cosmos fans would feel now if say a billion dollar company came in to save the team but wanted to rebrand them in their name to something like
Monster New York or similar.

The system isn't really going to change that much. MLS and the owners want the two games and the revenue/exposure they bring.
Easiest tweak to make to this which has been stated in other places.....is let the higher seed choose if they want to start at home or on the road.

So, the format which works best for us is single-game*, except for neutral site MLS Cup finals!
*by definition, single-game is not a "series".
Fixed for you.
