will the bleeding stop?

Bob loves blood, especially from the new guys.

What's the plan now? American heart? Patience and break them down? Long balls to Jozy? Crash and don't burn?

I don't know what the plan might be if there is one.

really no downside to this game: lose and bob looks like the awful coach he is, win and properly positioned to go on to the final game.

I'll be cheering my ass off for Guadelope in the next match. If the US is eliminated from the quarters and Bradley keeps his job, I am done with US soccer and will start cheering for Belize or Andorra. Maybe even Haiti. God is this pathetic. If I wanted to watch a train crash in slow motion, I'd keep watching the US economy.

Random Thoughts:

1. My MOTM is Baloy. Yes, he plays for Panama.
2. Even at R. Mid, Landon didn't seem into it. He probably really was sick.
3. Aren't you supposed to win 50% of 50/50 balls? The US damn sure didn't. I think maybe we should start calling them 90/10 balls.
4. I actually liked the way the referee called the game. Panama figured out how he was going "Let them play" way before the US did.
5. It's no shame to lose to Panama, because... because... because... Well they speak Spanish, just like they do in Spain who are World Champions - right?
6. Landon Donovan in the post game interview "Now we have a tough one against Guadalupe". Really? Are you fucking shitting me? They're fucking Guadalupe. They don't even have their own flag, and they speak French.
7. For all the talk about firing Bob Bradley, against a piss ant country like Panama, we should be able to start Clint Dempsey at goalkeeper and Timmay at Right Midfield, and still win.
8. Eric Wynalda is still a cunt.

everyday that the finals get closer my attitude is building . . . i pray that those pussies from south of the border dont fail to make it to the finals. i want to see the USMNT open up a can of whoop-ass on those mother fuckers. i don't want to see their cheating used as an excuse.

nice to see you panama, now it is time for daddy to show you who is boss. for now i will have to settle with kicking panamas ass . . . that is until el cry chooses to meet us in the finals.

game #2 of 2011 liberation is a few hours from the start; i am fucking pumped.

If it actually was the real US National Team, I'd be 100% there with you. What would another country with players the caliber of the US do after a loss like this? The Spain game made it clear to me that this could happen. Now it has happened. Can the US get a result against Guadaloupe. Probably. Part of me hopes it is a tie or a loss. But even with that would the US get another coach, would they get somebody who will be given the power to change the fundamental culture of the USSF? Probably not.

Changes Necessary
How many think we'll see a Jones/Edu pairing in the middle? That's the first necessary change that needs to be made. Nobody can read and support Michael Bradley, and nobody can trust that they will receive his support. He's a one-man show out there and every one on the team has to adjust to him.

Thought it was funny when Dempsey said he was being "mis-used at left mid" during pre-game. Ok I paraphrased that but Wynalda also found it interestesting. Edu seems the much more composed central midfielder when he gets the chance. Of course he starts in SPL and doesn't start or sit on bench in EPL.

That trial by fire against Espana really did Ream some good. He learned it's ok to fail and you'll still have your job.

Jeez! What I really want to know is: What is our style of play and what do we want to accomplish as a team? Right now I'm confused.

You seem to have more of an idea than the team does. Pretty simple, the style of play is whatever the Bradley on the field decides it will be, because the Bradley on the sideline has micro-analyzed the team into disconnected bits and bytes. It's been up to the players to put the pieces together. We'll see what "changes" mean to Bob. He sees players, not team. He sees skills and individual movement, not team cohesiveness. His coaching deconstructs the team rather than creating a cohesive whole.

Agreed Catamount. His usefulness as a coach is analysis of pieces. There is a place for that, but only as an assistant.

I know teams prepare for games. It is apparent that Panama at least watched our games against Canada and Spain and knew that they could spring runners off our left side. So, they tried it. And, lo and behold... It Worked.

We did not look like we were prepared for Panama at the start of the game. I should expect this from our team but it still pisses me off.

P.S. Wondo pisses me off too.

This my fault guys. I'm a pariah. I bought tickets a day ago for the final thinking the US would be in a shoe-in s of course they will now have the worst showing ever in an Open Cup. I should have warned you when I got the tickets so you wouldn't even bother watching the games.

A team with this much talent should never, NEVER, fucking lose to Panama. That was a disgusting performance.
