A win knocks Orlando and Philly out. Also forces Montreal or New England out since both have to win out but they play each other to end the season.

So essentially, win and we are all but assured a playoff spot.

Big day ...
ORL sitting on 38 points, hosts Dallas at 4 PM.
We visit TFC at 7, on 43.
At 7:30, NE (also on 38) hosts ATL.
At 9 PM, MON (39) are at Colorado.

ORL & NE pick up single points, each at 39.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Sucks we are going to be stuck with the 6th seed. We really needed home field for the play in game.

Metro 43 (3 games left)

Montreal, Revs, Orlando 39 (2 games left)

Worms 36 (3 games left)

One win guarantees a playoff spot. Of course, we haven't won in close to 2 months. Whatever...

MON loss leaves them at 39, a 3-way tie for 7th.
Each has 2 games to go, & needs 2 wins. Tying RB at 43 isn't enough, as our goal difference is far superior. RB are +2, MON is -4, NE -10, ORL -13.

So....this team will, undeservedly, will make the playoffs only to get their ass handed to them in the knock-out round. Awesome!!!

One could argue that any team that makes the playoffs deserves it.

Or that too many teams make the playoffs...

I think six is a good number considering now with the expansions teams coming. There will be 12 teams in the West next season and 12 again in the East sometime in maybe 2 -3 years max.

Philly win means they are still in the hunt.

4 teams on 39 points.

Orlando and Philly both need two wins, as a draw and a win puts Red Bulls ahead (MLS wins is the first tiebreaker).

New England and Montreal can tie RB in wins, BUT have to play each other, so one team can't end with a better record unless NE and Mont draw and dominate their next game to make up the goal differential.

Can we make the playoffs without winning another game?

Can we make the playoffs without winning another game?

Only way that happens is if all the clubs with 39 points end the season without two wins.

The other teams need to win both games with RB losing them all or drawing one of three to make it.

RB need one win to clinch.
