Kind of bummed about Grella. It makes sense to be honest, but I hope he lands on his feet somewhere. Front office?

Do you think his ties to Orange County or Chivas USA mean much to the incoming LAFC?
How many RB fans know, or care, about his ties to Seton Hall?

Bummed about Grella and Baah, happy about Zizzo.

It seems Philly fans have signed up on metrofanatic to vote for themselves (in 'What team do you hate more?') . No real fan of this team would vote anything other than DC.

Surprised with Basuljevic. Not sure what they wanted the kid to do.

RIP Guillermo Romulo, Alexander Francis Orig and Celenio Eleazar.

Out: Zizzo, Baah, Perrinelle, Grella, Duka, Metzger, Basuljevic, Zeiko Lewis, Bezecourt, Veron and Brandon Allen.

Possible return of Bezecourt and Veron.

Sad about Grella.  Surprised on Basuljevic.

To bad about the homegrowns and I liked Zeiko's initial swagger.

Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

Grella should be Woly's assistant coach.

I remember when we traded Dax, there were people saying Adams and Basuljevic would be competent replacements.

Given that he hardly ever even made the bench, I have to imagine they thought he was better than he was or he otherwise didn't meet their expectations.

Or we didn't need two replacements for one guy.

The whole Brandon Allen thing still baffles me somewhat . . . $100 says he's playing for Cinci in USL next season.

Why?  Watch some of his USL matches.  He takes forever on the ball.  It worked on that level, but you could see how he wouldn't have the same kind of time against MLS defenders and how his game would suffer because of that.

The two times I saw him with the first team, once in the 2016 regular season and once in the 2017 preseason, he literally fell over/tripped while running.

Are the Cosmos still a thing?  Given his age and recent injuries, the NASL is probably a good fit.  He could make around the same amount of money as he did in MLS and he would train and play close to where he lives.  And then, maybe we'll get to see him in the Open Cup.

Why do folks say we "traded" Dax? We "sold" him would be more accurate.

Why do folks say we "traded" Dax? We "sold" him would be more accurate.

"Selling" would imply the tradeoff received was real money and the transfer value would be comparable to free-market transfers anywhere else in the world of soccer. We exchanged him for MLS-use-only salary vouchers, so I think "traded" is appropriate, both in this case and in all MLS-to-MLS moves.

To illustrate my point, Dax's transfermarkt profile lists his market value at the time of sale as 1.6M pounds while we obviously got only 400k in AM. Obvious caveat that transfermarkt is far from perfect.
