I think they should have had the top two teams in each conference + the two best remaining teams, regardless of conference, advance. That would mean 8 out of 18 teams make the playoffs...MUCH better than what they did IMO!

(2 x 2) + 2 = 6

The education system is a shambles!

But I know what you meant to say.

I'm okay with this. Like the theologian says, without relegation this is what we get.

Besides the more and more I see the big money Euro clubs throwing wads of cash around, relegation's a little overrated. Plus with salary caps as they are, the minimal throwing around of cash in MLS (DP's) has far less impact here, perhaps even negative as we've seen.

Truth. I swear the people who run this league listen to us, digest it, and go completely the opposite way.

Which is smart because most people who post on internet message boards and facebook and the like are idiots.

This

For the 87,452nd time, without relegation, and we'll never have relegation, you need something to keep the teams and their fans involved. This playoff system makes sense to me and addresses at least one concern by giving priority to the top two regular season teams. I don't understand the continuance of "Conferences" unless it means that Garber has been reading my posts about how MLS should expand to 24 or 28 teams built around two regional conferences with infrequent inter-conference play like the NBA.

87,453rd.

All you glory hunting - pack following bastards who got to chose your favorite European club can rant about promotion/relegation all you like.

I likes what we got.

(Not a tirade at you Bones, just in general)

One of my pet peeves is the consternation and gnashing and teeth by InternetSoccerFan over "conferences" because they incorrectly think they are an "end" instead of a "mean". They came about in North American sports when balanced schedules became impractical (the NFL) or when they realized an unbalanced schedule made for cheaper travel budgets (NBA and MLB). The former is why MLS started out with them and why they'll be necessary once Montreal and Team 20 come in, while the latter is whey they kept them for these past two years playoff wise.

There are plenty of other things that the league does that InternetSoccerFan consider ghey, stupid, or retarded which makes them call for The Don's head (despite the fact he's not Keenesaw Mountain Landis). Most of those things are for practical reasons that I wish Garber would come out and say sometimes, but saying so would get idiots like HRH, Trekker Jr, and the rest of the internet idiot farm in such a tizzy.

How about we let every team in the league into the playoffs? This way, there's always a chance of a team with a losing record being crowned champs. Also, it will give every city with a team a chance to make more money, keep the fans happy that haven't experienced playoff socccer, and so on and so forth.

Yo Slug, Grahame Jones is hacking into your account.

Seriously, though, not even close; certainly not while the likes of Sepp Bladder and Jack Warner are still running around unindicted.

Cause i called in sick after two weeks of spring break

If the playoffs done started today:

West
1(1st Overall) RSL vs Lowest Wild Card
2(2nd Overall) Col vs 3(4th Overall) LA Galaxy

East

1(3rd Overall) PHI vs Second Lowest Wild Card
2(5th Overall) NE vs 3(6th Overall) HOU

Wildcards
7 SanHo vs 10 NYRB
8 TFC vs 9 CREW

*Wildcards are a one off (lower seeds @ home)
*Next Round is home and home (I assume lower seed opens on the road)
*Conference Finals are one off (lower seed is at home)

Team Tucker: You might be cool, but I am ZERO cool.  Foo

EDIT: I BELIEVE THIS IS WITH ALL GAMES COMPLETE

If the playoffs done started today WEEK 5:

some notes for this week: RSL has only played 4 games, 3 less than the G's...Rapids, Union, redbull, crew, dynamo and united have only 5 games played and all could jump the galaxy overall if they win their games in hand (2 of them). seattle, san ho, NE, TFC, dallas, CHI and van can't pass the galaxy after (7 games played)... KC can reach 13pts if they win all three games in hand and timbers can reach 13 pts if they win their 2 games in hand... goats jr. remain the only team to not have a win...

tables here: http://en.wikipedia....e_Soccer_season

top goal scorer: Divies 5 (3 from the spot)
top assister: chiumiento 4 (van), becks has 3

West
1(1st Overall) RSL vs Lowest Wild Card
2(2nd Overall) LA Galaxy vs 3(4th Overall) Col

East

1(3rd Overall) PHI vs Second Lowest Wild Card
2(5th Overall) NYRB vs 3(6th Overall) HOU

Wildcards
7 Crew vs 10 Van
8 DC vs 9 Timbers

*Wildcards are a one off (lower seeds @ home)
*Next Round is home and home (I assume lower seed opens on the road)
*Conference Finals are one off (lower seed is at home)

WITH ALL GAMES COMPLETE

If the playoffs done started today WEEK 7:

Team notes for this week: Basically, this was a bad week for LA...obviously not everyone will max out their points...but to have 18 or even 16 points would have been nice... it's a tough loss... Long way to go... i find it interesting that we play SO many games... we have the NYRB on the 7th...the Union on wed and SKC on saturday after that, then SCUM at home...then at home on a wed against HOU before going on the road saturday @ NE... just seems like we keep playing and the league never gets to play those GIH...

RSL 4 GIH can reach 24pts
