If you're coming from Long Island, RBA is a pain. I don't drive there...I take the LIRR to Penn, NJT to Newark Penn, and then hoof it or take the PATH back to Harrison. Getting home after a match can easily take me two hours. Yes, I can grab a beer or a donut at my connections, but when the final whistle blows at 9:30 PM, I'm lucky if I walk into my house by 11:30.  It's a minimum of 3 1/2 hours of commuting for a 90 minute match, and the sad thing is it's probably less than 40 miles as the crow flies.

Yea...I used to do that when I went to school on Long Island. Not the best, but it's better than driving. Easier than getting to the stadium via train from Westchester. But...the Metro area is just so big. You can't please everyone. For a counterpoint...how long would it take to get  to Yankee Stadium from the Island? Not too easy either, right?

I do think "Metro" (old name aside) is the perfect term to represent the team. I don't get why people act like you have to be either NY or NJ...as if they aren't right next to each other and are part of the same Metro area.

And all things considered, I really don't think the stadium is in that bad of a location. Could be way worse. It is not Bridgeview, Frisco, or Chester, which are literally in the middle of nowhere. RBA is very accessible from mass transit. 20 min PATH from World Trace Center (when it's open), and 25 min from Penn Station. Plus easy to get to from Hoboken, Jersey City, ect. It is also right outside Newark, which by itself is a big city - about the same population as Orlando.

Why not take the free school buses from Newark Penn?

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Metro 96 baby. Bonus points for a European naming convention that actually works.

Yankee Stadium is easier by both train and car. LIRR to 34th Street followed by a 25 minute direct subway ride. Driving is hit or miss of course. Can take 45 minutes from Nassau, or 2:45 depending on traffic. I have friends who deliberately didnt get hooked on the Red Bulls and were waiting for a 5 Boro team. Im stuck. I dont change allegiances. They could have put NYCFC at Belmont or Aqueduct, much closer to me, and it would not matter (except for when the Red Bulls come to visit).
