Midweek game mania! I guess it's because the league is scared about the situations in Atlanta and Seattle.
Also, per Dylan Butler on Twitter, Boy City are in big trouble if the Yankees make the ALCS or farther. If they don't secure the first round bye and Yankees make ALCS, they will have to host their first round game somewhere else. If Yankees make the World Series, they will have to move their semifinal and conference final games somewhere else as well, if they make it that far. Maybe a few weeknight playoff soccer games in Hartford this October?
I'm a big fan of getting it done before December. If you can't fill a stadium midweek for a conference final (and we can't, but most teams can) that's a bigger issue.
Seriously, this money ball, home grown, train em young philosophy is crap. It doesn't matter if we don't win MLS championships. What's worse is that any player that excels, gets sold or sent to the Red Bull mothership. How can this organization expect us fans to back up what is essentially a farm team!?
How many times has that actually happened? And what team in MLS has been able to hold on to a guy like Adams?
unpopular opinion - as impressive as Murillo was 1v1 last night, he still finished all those attacking runs through the defenders with a wasted pass or non-shot. If he gets even 1 assist out of it, all would be forgiven, but he so rarely does. Sure, he drew a debatable PK, but he's gotta be able to take on defenders AND have an awareness of the other players on the field.
this would look too similar to the shit we tried in the away leg in Mexico in CCL this year, where our central midfield shape was decimated and we gave up like 3 goals in 15 seconds. We absolutely need at a bare minimum 2 real bona-fide central mids playing centrally - not CCJ plus Kaku, certainly not CCJ plus BWP (how many times do we have to teach you this lesson old man Chris Armas??)
This formation with Kaku, CJ and Taxi looks a whole lot better than this formation with Valot, Davis and Lade.
