Adams was the best player on the team last season by the end of the year with Sacha and will be the best player on the team next season as well. He's a true difference maker. We just need another and hopefully Kaku is that.

Yeah but you have to score or assist to win games and Adams, despite running around a lot, didn't do enough of that. Is Adams going to get 15 assists this season? Doubt it.

He played mostly as a wingback last year. If he scored or assisted more from there, he'd be in Europe right now. Assist activity was intentionally focused on Sacha last year (and it didn't get us where we wanted).

Will Adams have 15 assists this year? Probably not, especially if he won't be taking set pieces. HENRY never had 15 assists iirc.

Will Adams contribute a ton more than Sacha did on defense and in the press? One hundred percent yes. He'll score more goals than Sacha did in 2017, too.

But if your one and only measure is the number of assists without any other considerations, sure, letting go of Sacha will always seem like a huge mistake.

we were asking similar questions when Henry retired. we asked where would the production come from once Henry left? guys just stepped up, plain and simple.

Our Opening Day lineup up at SKC in 2015 was:

BWP

Grella Sacha Sam

Dax Felipe

Miller Perrinelle Zubar Duvall

Robles

We need to sign at least two more guys that where league wide stand outs in a foreign league be it Liga MX, Argentine Superliga, Brasileirao, Liga Aguila in Colombia.. Chile's first division... Uruguay... Somewhere?!?!?!
I just want Metro to win a title sometime in my lifetime.

I look around and see eastern conf opponents building their squads. Orlando and Atlanta specifically. NYCFC wont be a push over either after making a few signings themseleves. TFC will still be tough with their same core.

Meanwhile were over here hoping Tyler Adams has a 25 goal, 25 assist season to remain competative

5 year plan

I've made a lot of wrong predictions here (and some right ones) but I can't help keep feeling that our marquee signing of the offseason is going to be some castoff guy from Salzburg/Leipzig who has played only a dozen games over two seasons. Some reclamation project synergy guy.

Yup... but MLS 2018 isn't MLS 2015.

Exactly my thoughts.. And it was clear that NYRB still need a additions if they want to beat TFC and or Seattle in the playoffs... NYRB threw everything at them and the key player in Sacha leaves and NY couldn't advance..

Aaaand Metro have CCL!!!

they have got to add 3 stand out players..

3 guys that have been clear standouts in other leagues or international competition in recent time

I agree we need to add more, but did you notice we did better when Sacha was not playing the #10 and even better after he was red carded?

At this point Ill take Bolivias best from their First Division. Maybe Almiron has a younger brother that we can bring to the academy and slowly integrate to a Homegrown signing.

Glad it all worked out.; I wouldve been pretty nervous going into the year without a credible replacement for Sacha. At least w Kaku we have some better options to try shit out & see what works.

Sacha was huge for this club. He was limited though, especially this past season, and it forced us to play a specific way. The problem was that way wasnt necessarily the style Marsch wants us to play.

We were better against TFC in the second leg with Tyler at the #10 because we needed someone to press and make Bradley uncomfortable; Sacha hadnt really done that in the first game. And, when Marsch asked Sacha to do something else that game, he struggled. Thats the inflexibility of Sachas game at this point in his career.

In the right spot, he can be extremely effective. I think Orlando will put him in that position and I expect him to have a solid year.
