We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.
XFL told us 2 days ago our credit for unplayed games that would be used for 2021 season tickets would be refunded to us. However we will still have access to our seat locations when the league restarts. Yesterday they announced the league is suspended operations (which is code for closing down) and wont play in 2021. XFL hasnt fired everybody. Vince took a huge loss on Wrestlemania this year as it would be recorded in a studio. There is rumor future studio shows may be cancelled to help with social distancing. Which means wwe loses more tv revenue from FOX and USA as they are unable to put on a show. So XFL is priority right now when their bread and butter is losing crazy money. Also it may not be practical for the XFL to play in 2021 due to scheduling logisitics. If the NFL starts in late October or Early November as some suggest the Super Bowl would take place in April. With training camp starting in late July. It would leave no rest time to complete an XFL season and then have their players play in the NFL if they are discovered in the XFL. My hopes are the XFL comes back in 2022. I can say for now I never missed a Guardians home game in their entire history.

I don't follow the league but I read speculation based on the language they used in the announcement, and their promise about securing funding for 2 full seasons, that they may be back in 2021.
RED. BULL. OUT.

Could CFL go under?

worst case scenario ... it gets wound up and reformed ... with the same name and teams.

That is what a lot of people are also asking. Should be noted that those 3 teams are the best supported in the league as well. How do the 6 privately owned teams manage to lose money, while the three community-owned teams with open books make money?
Salaries cannot be a legitimate excuse.
The salary cap is <C$6 million,
reportedly <23% of revenue.
