Altidore scored 1 goal in 589 minutes of play this year. Barlow has three in 857 minutes. Hes scored at twice the rate of Jozy. And Jozy plays with Gil. Im not saying Barlow is good enough, hes not. But neither is Jozy.Better than barlow and klimala

another one that has not watched him playAltidore scored 1 goal in 589 minutes of play this year. Barlow has three in 857 minutes. Hes scored at twice the rate of Jozy. And Jozy plays with Gil. Im not saying Barlow is good enough, hes not. But neither is Jozy.
Jozy was the 3rd forward. Bou and buksa played ahead of him. So when it comes to goal stats and shot stats.. it's going to favor the player who received more playing time.
But we play a press system at rbny. Who has better stats in that department? Jozy. He wins 50% of his duels while barlow only wins 36.5% and klimala only wins 31%.
Why is that significant? Because in the rbny system jozy would get more opportunities to create turn overs and create more transition moments
What about headed duel percentage since struber like to play long balls from the back. Jozy wins 54.9% of those challenges while klimala only wins 32.9 and barlow only wins 42%.
Now as a forward you also have to create. Jozy pass percentage is 71.9% while klimala is 53% and barlow is 61%.
How about total attacking assists? Jozy has 6 in 589 mins, klimala has 12 in 1154, and barlow has 5 in 857.
What those stats tell me is that he would be a really good pressing forward and he can be a more efficient goal creator than klimala if he was to have more minutes. And a waay much better "defensive forward" than barlow.
As for shots and goals? There wasnt a big enough sample size since jozy didnt take many shots in those 589. He just didnt get the ball enough in NE at those positions when he played but historically he is goal scorer. You cant say that for barlow or klimala.

Ive watched a handful of Revs games this year, one in person. Hes looked slow and often uninvolved. Im not saying hes missing opportunities they way Barlow and Klimala do, but hes also not getting as many. Replace Barlow AND Klimala, but with someone better than Altidore.another one that has not watched him play
How are you going to evaluate a player based on those stats when there is not enough sample size.
Even if Altidore is better, its marginal at best. We need a big leap in production at the striker spot, not an incremental one.

How about we get a competent striker first. It would dramatically improve our team. We have not had one since bwp left.

Dude what are you talking about.
Is this necessary?
We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Again?another one that has not watched him play
headed duel percentage klimala only wins 32.9
1 in 3. Seems lower, frankly.

What's everyone's thoughts about signing Jon Brooks? He's a free agent. And we could use another CB.

Total pass not concern with cb and he is not good with high line which is part of the reason he fell off usmntWhat's everyone's thoughts about signing Jon Brooks? He's a free agent. And we could use another CB.
Although I know he can pass
Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

Think he's looking for a higher salary than we'd pay. I wouldn't say no at the right price, but it's unlikely RB would and we have bigger holes elsewhere as a much higher priority anyway. What's everyone's thoughts about signing Jon Brooks? He's a free agent. And we could use another CB.

Maybe they'll pursue a player who is currently out of contract.
RIP Guillermo Romulo, Alexander Francis Orig, Celenio Eleazar, and my Mom, Resurreccion Eleazar.
RIP Cesar Castello, Mike Vallo, Glenn Stampiglia, Bob Paquette, and Warren Lee

Is there any date where out of contract players can't be added?
Transfermarket has some good names on their list.
