what the hell i fall a sleep for 1hr and i now find out this. now if i am rite Dero wanted DP money next year or am i wong and we know they ware not going to give him DP money. so this is cap space but what bothers me about this whol trade is what we gave up to get Dero. now we are going to have to think who is going to take PK. i just hope that this dose not come back to hart us in the long run. but i think Dax is going to have to come good other wise for the first time fans will be asking qustions to Soler. Welcome dax and now we all have to say a big Fuck you dero you scum bag.

DeRo definitely wanted DP money for next year. The main reason he got traded was because Toronto wouldn't give it to him.

...
dax will play where DeRo played, behind the 2 strikers.

Ya think? I heard some grumbling from DC fans that he was offering no creativity and was simply a serviceable d-mid. Could this be leading to something like Dax to Tainio's position, Tainio to right back, Solli to right wing, and Dane to forward? It seems insane, but Backe clearly has balls. I can't imagine they'd give up De Ro for a mere backup and I'm skeptical about McCarty at the top of a diamond.

"While De Rosario's numbers may not have been overwhelming, the team as a whole propspered. In his 13 games, the Red Bulls scored 23 goals. In the four games they've played without De Rosario this season, they've managed to find net just four times." - quote from mlssoccer.com

My uneducated guess - couldn't find a decent contract number with DeRo and McCarty is cheaper and younger??

bingo. they might find a better replacement this summer. It would have made sense to get a feel for what numbers Dero was looking for prior to that trade, but............

they might make a play for a different a-mid during the summer window.

This has to set something else up because otherwise I truly hate this move. Dero was not given enough time to make his mark here.

Even if he wasn't going to get the DP contract, they could have let him walk at the end of the year and pick up a substantial amount of cap space for next season. I doubt we are gonna find a better attacking mid option than Dero.

Never liked Dax as a player. Very inconsistent and I don't see what role he plays on this team. Right now I am not a fan of this move at all.

I'm guessing this is to free up an international spot in order to get a goalie, as both of ours currently suck the llama's ass?

which is a stupid move, as your only plugging one hole and digging another. but then again , Dero hasn't exactly set harrison on fire

To me, all this cap space smells like a move to make a dream swoop for Sebastian Vettel: http://goo.gl/w1BRh
