seeing that AEG is about the bottom line, i think AEG will go after a high quality mexican player with good PR. reason being, the initial cash outlay will be much much lower, and the return on investment will be very similar. all of this assumes that the ESPN contracts the MLS acquired with DB won't be going away. if the networks do renig on their deals, i would expect something along the lines of ronaldinho.

Ronaldinho would be a good PLAYING option but not a playa's option... he's too ugly! There goes all the teenyboppers, soccer moms and gays to check out Becks!

YES! What a beautiful sight it would be...
CHACO! CHACO! CHACO! CHACO!
We need a catchy campaign slogan to start the "Bring Chaco Gimenez to the Los Angles Galaxy" movement....
If you're not creepin', you're not trying...

And myself happy... I have been a "casual" Toluca fan, but the more I watch Pachuca, the more I like them... I wouldn't mind having Chaco Gimenez on our squad... it would take me back to the Cienfuegos days when we had a natural playmaker!!!Best ON-FIELD option for 2.0 in my book is:
His goals from this weekend at 2:00 and 5:35
He's 28. His contract with Pachuca should be up soon, and he's stated that he follows MLS and would like to play here. The guy is a natural leader, and, unlike Beckham, he's the kind of guy you can build a team around rather than just a support player.
He cost Pachuca approx. $1.5M if I remember correctly, and would be making less than that, so I'm guessing he'd be willing to sign for that amount.
Not to mention it would make Twigg, LOBO, and me happy. Ha ha ha.

how about Juan Román Riquelme.
He's too good for MLS. His teammates would fuck up so bad they'd make Riquelme worthless. It'd be impossible for him
...ooooh ooooooooh we are the riot squad...

At first I was kinda like, eh, whatever.
CHACO! CHACO! CHACO! CHACO!
But just after watching the highlights of Los Gophers last game, now I'm like, hell yeah!
Isaac, what's Gimenez make ($-wise) down Mejico way? Pipe dream or could he actually be lured to el norte?
