I hope we're not paying that much...

I don't care how much we pay to acquire players.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Sure, but knowing that Red Bull have spent at the bottom of the league for a few years, you would think they are going to need to spread the wealth.

Potentially a $2.5 million transfer?

https://sbisoccer.co...or-andres-reyes

Wow that's a lot, but it would mean he'd have to reach certain numbers of games played, etc. Well, let's hope that he performs to a level for us to say after the fact, "That was worth the $2.5m transfer fee."

I don't care about Red Bull's bottom line, but I want us to get players whose quality matches their value. If we're going to spend $2.5M, I want it to be on a player who is more likely to make an impact than a young CB most Miami fans were happy to see go.

Also to answer the compensation question from before per Franco we got him through waivers.

That's bad asset management by Miami.

Not sue about that.  He was on loan, with a purchase option.  Miami didn't own him so they couldn't do much.

I think it's probably less, as we can negotiate with Atletico anew and I'm sure the market is different now.  Honestly, I'd be happy if the team is paying money to get (good) players.

I'm guessing that the fee was much less than Miami's $2.5 milliom option.

Singular, so far. Hoping for a few more.

I'm happy we got a deal over the line but I think most would say it's the other end of the pitch we need help with.

In fact CB was one of the positions we LEAST needed...

ST
LB
Attacking Mid

Would be most top 3 for most people.

You need 5 CBs on the roster to field a 3man backline.

As said by Eleanor, not if we are moving to a 3 CB backline permanently.

Or if we are moving Parker (for help with one of those other positions?).

I really don't remember anything about this guy but in that video he looked very happy to be here and excited for the season to get underway. Hopefully a change of scenery is what he needed and it translates to his play on the field.
