So none of our supplemental picks are even in this camp. What's the point?

i thought the supplemental picks didn't make the first round of cuts

Were they even at the training sessions in NJ? Even if they were, is a weeks worth of practices enough time to make a decision?

"The didnt take me after a 3 day trial..i played really really well and they just said they didnt have enough room for me so i guess that means they cut me..im pretty dissapointed about it i really was excited to play with the redbulls and play in the mls and i basically wasnt even given a shot.

Konopka is already training with Philly who is short on keepers. My guess is he ends up there.

Backe praised the remaining trialists and said he'd like to sign all of them:
"All have impressed me. They have done very well. I asked them to join us for our Arizona camp. . . . I told them we need to see them at least two more games."

These guys are still around:
D - Alvarez, Leobardo
M - Maduro, Ryan
M - Barklage,Brandon
F - Arteaga, Jhonny
M/F - Chirgadze, Giorgi
F - Angulo, Jose

If Nielsen doesn't see any playing time in the next two pre-season games is he as good as gone? One can only hope. With Nielsen's salary they could probably sign two of these guys. If Rodgers doesn't get his visa approved I wouldn't be surprised if they sign both Angulo & Arteaga.

As I just mentioned in another thread, Backe complimented Chirgadze's left-footed shot and they played Giorgio in the midfield against Dallas, so maybe they will feel comfortable with him enough on the left wing to dump Nielsen.

Anyone know anything about whether Maduro and Barklage are better suited wide or central in mid?

It is clear Hans likes Angulo and Arteaga, but if we don't get Luke, he implied that neither of them may have the pace needed to fill that specific role, so we'd probably look for someone else as the specific Luke replacement.

They mentioned possible cap constraints to signing all of them, yet another reason to jettison Nielsen.

What are they waiting for? Nielsen must have pictures of Hans with sheep or something, just too bizarre. Is he really that good when healthy?

Barkage tore his ACL 2x in the last 3 years and only played a handful of games with D.C.:

Backe mentioned "all five" trialists - you listed six there. Can't imagine they would waste an international slot on Alvarez (I assume he doesn't have a green card).
