#1384876 Brian White Sold To Vancouver for $400K GAM

Posted by Sasa Curcic's Watch on 02 June 2021 - 08:26 PM

White was a solid contributor here and I think he will go on to have a solid MLS career. He can be great backup forward in MLS for many years to come. He was 4th on the depth chart (Klimala, Fabio, Royer) so getting this much allocation money for him is solid, especially if we can do something meaningful with it like bring in a center back or two. He's better than Barlow but Barlow isn't getting anything more than a ham sandwich in a trade. Can't hate on the return we got. Best of luck to Brian in Vancouver.

#1384873 The quality of Nealis

Yeah, I'm good with Nealis as a respectable 3 and that's good to have.

In an ideal world that's what he would be, a third choice and a spot starter for a stretch of games.

Full time position change for Sean Davis?

Not to get too far ahead of ourselves here, so far this year the teams who have played midweek in CCL they have subsequently not had good results on the following weekend. So even though it's not CCL Philly having to play midweek is a boost to us, especially if we can establish our press early and get them tired. But Philly plays a very similar system and they'll know what to expect from us. But I'm very excited and interested to see how our positive momentum will fare against a superior opponent than we've played the last two weeks.

#1383479 Frankie Amaya tampering

We tampered by showing Frankie what kind of pasta he can get in North Jersey as opposed to that skyline chili bullshit.

I think as he becomes more match fit the goals will come. He's getting in good spots and has had some good attempts at goal. It's a matter of time.

Strange move for Kemar. Seemed he was desperate to head over to Europe and seemed he was doing well with Anderlecht. And then he decides to come back here and be coached by Chris Armas again.

#1382646 Struber Death Watch Thread

Unfortunately it's gonna take a bit for us to find out what our best 11 is gonna be. Especially with all these midfield options. I guess with the congested schedule everyone will get some playing time with some squad rotation but how Struber finds what the best midfield will be will be the key to the season, I believe. That and our defenders not gifting goals to our opponents.

its a key principle of Red Bull soccer its a way to create counter pressing situations its all about winning second balls and being further up the field.

All of that is understood with our style but it's really ridiculous to see us play hopeful long ball to isolated forward players time after time basically giving up the ball, our midfielders aren't even in any position to challenge for any second balls or to create turnover situations.

#1381741 Patryk "The Devil" Klimala no longer a rumour

Twice what they paid for Jorgensen.  I expect him to be twice as good and I feel safe in this expectation.

2 x 0 = 0 though

Orlando signs Pato. Another one that would've made sense for us. Imagine Nani and Pato on this team! Fuck Red Bull and their "sign toddlers who havent won anything...yet?" approach. Give us owners that want to win it all and absolutely demolish our rivals every year.

Who's really excited by seeing Pato play in 2021?

#1378519 Masaya Okugawa to New York Red Bulls?

Would have been a useful loan from RBS for a change, figures that's why it didn't happen.

#1378296 Long to be loaned?

If there's a lockout half the league may be looking for a loan somewhere.

#1377527 Parker could be, and is, traded

Posted by Sasa Curcic's Watch on 18 January 2021 - 07:24 PM

We just gotta look at what Nashville paid for Zimmerman and take off a bit considering recent form and contract status.

Productive, proven, domestic cb's are unicorns in MLS and I'm hesitant to let Parker go unless we bring in more replacements besides Reyes. He really improved once Armas was let go and I think he still has a few high level prime years left.

#1375991 Gerhard Struber no longer a rumour

True. Still think its a new take from an RB guy- if its wide held belief in RB global that MLS>Austria Bundesliga and more players for Leipzig is the goal - maybe NY moves up in the human centipede pecking order.

Won't happen as Salzburg has the draw of Champions League and Europa League still.
