Been doing some spring cleaning lately, and going through an old tote, I came across this old gem.  Didn't even realize I still had the stub.  This was my very first MLS game--our HS soccer program from PA did a bus trip.  Picked a good game for it, haha.

I was actually a ball boy for the PA Natives game!  I grew up outside of Scranton, and my mom worked for the local TV station.  We were there the night before for something related to her job, and one of the scheduled ball boys  didn't show up for the orientation meeting.   I jumped at the chance.  I remember my team's goalie  pestering me for Zach Thornton's autograph (he idolized Thornton, which was odd as he was a backup in 1997).  When I got the autograph, the other Metros busted his chops, teasing him that he was already "more famous than Meola."

I ended up getting a ball signed by most of the Metros there--that ball (the old Mitre MLS ball) was in the same tote as the ticket, along with the 1996 and 1997 team yearbooks, another ticket stub from 1997, and an old TSI MLS calendar.
