Great stuff. I honestly feel that we will make it to the final this year.

I never thought i cared about w/l's or how professionally the club was run. I thought it was all about enjoying some summer nights, ice cream and soft pretzels with the wife. That was until I read this thread. I've repressed alot of my sadness and sorrow, but they bubbled to the surface reading this Club history. And my eyes got ever so slightly moistened during the final chapter, as it made me realize how important soccer and this club is to me.

Beautiful. There are times where you question why you put yourself through the pain but it just makes the good times that much sweeter. Seriously, how great was watching Angel score on the last kick of the game this year?

Fucking Brilliant synopsis.

"4) Tom Fina has an anger and hatred that burns hotter than the fires of 1,000,000 suns. You will see him at Red Bull Arena. I promise."

Does he sit in 123, paint his face red and give the finger to the away supporters the whole game ? If so, we love that guy. My 12 yr old calls him "the FU Guy".

Wow, that was amazing.

This needs to be circulated through the blogosphere, even if only the 2010 part.(we should also sticky it at the top for a bit)

"side note I gave my ESC scarf to fucking Cichero. I feel like an asshole" -That line is responsible for a soda stain on my carpet.

Anyone who says that this isn't a "true club" or doesn't have real history, read this and shut your mouth.

Seriously awesome job.

Wow if you got red star rising to comment on a thread that doesn't have to do with communism/socialism you know you've done well.

Amazing

I took my "non-sports-fan" roommate with me to this game... he shat his pants. said "this is the first time I've ever been excited at any sporting event"... that moment is why we go.

His face is red, but it isn't painted. There is no color scheme on earth which can emulate Tom Fina "we're-losing 4-1 in-the-rain-to-DC-United-at-home-in-2006" red

That's what happens when you take the LIRR to work everyday...and attend ND after 1988.

Hopefully we get our guys healthy enough to push for the top spot in the east. The shield is probably out of reach, but we can take a big step if we beat Columbus on Saturday.

I was thinking the same thing during the world cup. There were so many people who, were at one time involved with our club, involved in the tourney.

Just to name a few:

On TV: Alexi Lalas, Shawn Bartlett, John Harkes.
Radio: JP Delacama, Tommy smyth, Charlie Stiliatano.
Coaches: Parreria, Carlos Quiroz
Int'l Players: Andrew Boyens, Amado Guevara.
USA Team: Micheal Bradley, Jozy, Tim Howard, Ricardo Clark, Edson Buddle.

You left out Bob Bradley. And Shep was doing radio work as well.
