He can't even make it off the bench now.

He thinks he is a #10, but he is not.

We spent a million on him.

The frustrating part about what we're seeing with Amaya is that its exactly what every FC Cincinnati fan said we'd see....

No killer instinct on the ball, just kind of floats around making a play here and there but never really stamping his foot on the game. I thought I read going into the season, possibly from Doyle, that his true potential was as a #6. I thought maybe we'd play him there to shake things up, but apparently we thought he'd just magically become a better #10 in our uniform.

I don't even know what to do with him at this point. His transfer value is down the drain by now surely.

They spent Garber bucks on him, not real money.

Still sucks but maybe easier to stomach.

Personally i think Amaya is better than some of the players we are trotting out there at the moment.  that said its a horrible look to have a guy you spent $1mm on not even make a 20 man roster after a 2 week break.  But i also dont think Struber knows what to look for in a midfielder.

Wouldnt be surprised if he was traded again in the offseason

Spending a million in GAM is worse than spending a million in a transfer fee.

We gave up a massive asset and got little I'm return. Again, just way too many misses from Thelwell/Struber when it comes to getting players.

The only other big allocation trades this year were Parker and Ebobisse right? Ebobisse is better than Amaya but not sure he'd solve any of our problems either. Any other attacking mids out there that may have been up for grabs?

only big midfield GAM trades were for Mihailovic who i like and Kaye. that i know of at least.  Mihailovic would have been a really good signing for us but he transferred in December i think so if Kaku was in our plans for next season you cant make that trade then

We have to be patient. Adjusting to a new club is always tough.I would be harsh on amaya if this was his 2nd year with the club

He's a domestic player that we paid a fuckload of GAM for. That he's no even so much as a rotation player right now is nothing less than a disaster. He's been unseated by an 18-year-old who came by himself from Venezuela and probably speaks little English. A slightly more difficult "adjustment."

Henry and bwp looked like trash when they first arrived but we did okay with those signings.
