the 3 center back formation grants our outside backs more liberty to get up the field. The 2nd goal was a direct result of this - pendant had the liberty to get all the way upfield and put in a perfect cross to Royer.
Nowhere near enough of these type of chances. True, Royer made a world class finish, but Pendant is not a great offensive player. And we gave up a lot of possession too. It just felt midfield was weak, and we were facing one of the worst teams in MLS too. Thanks to Meara had a clean sheet, but would much rather see a competent player in the attacking third (Mines looked good whenever he came on and still only 20) than Nealis as a 3d CB. Duncan and Pendant (or Egbo I thought look decent when he got a start) can still make their runs with Long and Parker in the back.
