Yeah thats my hope otherwise they need to sign someone.  He is huge, so physically very much looks the part.  Didnt realize he was coming from California, so if he is coming cross country its for the pro path way and to play USL sooner than later.  Really like how aggressive Sean has been bringing in out of state players.  That's the 7th player or so he's brought in already.

Anyway, back to DPs

is the new academy goalie they signed going to taxi up with the USL team as the backup or solely U19 play?  Possibly could be TBD.

tbd Ill have more academy content coming soon from conversation with the leaderships there but one thing that is clear is thelwell was big in pushing more young players into the 2 team and I expect that trend to continueb

Is transfermarkt accurate with contract end dates?

New York Red Bulls - Detailed squad 2020 (Detailed view) | Transfermarkt

if so, there are a bunch of contracts expiring end of this year:

Tarek, Valot, Meara, Duncan, Tetteh, Lema, Omir, CCJ, Barlow, White, Stroud, Nealis, and Tolkin

Long expires end of 2021.

Sometimes, but not always.

If you scan YouTube looking for Bradley Wright-Phillips, youll find numerous goal compilations, a few interviews and, eventually, an excerpt from the grime mixtape series Lord of the Mics.

20 minutes until the deadline to submit bona-fide offers and exercised options to the league. Teams will be making the individual announcements, rather than the league.

Thinking we hear either today or tomorrow.

So, excuse my ignorance, but does this mean that (assuming the above transfermarkt list correct) we would know which of these 13 players are on the team next year? I would assume you sign anyone who has trade value if you can, but this could be a pretty illuminating announcement in terms of it being an offseason slaughter or not.

If accurate, yes. Plus players who have team options this year in their contracts. Davis, Royer, Rzatkowski?, etc.

Figure Kaku will be kept in order to be sold, Pendant because he has a multi year contract (could be waived or transferred/loaned), and maybe Jorgensen but only to be loaned out because he doesnt look to be in the teams plans.

Gotcha. How does it benefit MLS or the players to keep contracts so secret?

Negotiations.

Between individual players and MLS? - because they both would know already...

Between MLS and other leagues? - How could a deal even be felt out if you don't know how much contract is left?

Just seems like having contract end dates out there would only benefit all parties, but clearly I am missing something.

His issue was related to his contract length being public knowledge?

He used social media to announce it prior to the MLS formalities and apparently voided the contract. If that gets you voided, contracts are clearly taboo.
