Davis- last year of contract
Valot- last year of contract
Diarra- loan w/no buy option
Just CCJ and Yearwood left, although if CCJ raises his domestic play to accompany his positive reviews with Venezuela he might attract interest abroad

Would be helpful for Diarra to stay healthy. That small highlight reel was kind of encouraging.

Without having seen this guy play at all and simply based on his injury history, just seems like a reclamation project to me. But the extra depth in midfield will be welcome in this extra congested season.

Has he fallen off the face of the earth? I feel like we haven't heard any updates on him in a long time.

They are waiting on a donor for his hamstring transplant. It's only been 4 months, you can't rush these things.

I forget the source but Struber kind of ominously hinted a few weeks ago that Diarra the odds don't look great for his return this season.

Nah, they'll extend it. Who knows, he might come through next year!
It's hard to find players who are the "right fit", and he is clearly it.

Im done with Salzburg loans, the benefit is minimal unless they come with a buy option. Coronel has been decent, but I dont want to develop their players or help them take their roster dreck off their wage bill.
I'm pretty sure there were either official or handshake agreements for a future option to buy with Coronel and Diarra. I tend to agree, though. The Salzburg loan concept has been an overwhelming failure over a number of years with a number of players playing for different coaches. Unfortunately, it will probably continue because it's a pretty easy way for both Salzburg to trim the fat and for us to cheaply acquire players who theoretically make sense.

My expectation for this loan was Omer Damari and somehow it fell short of those expectations.

Is RZA the only successful loan we've had from Salzburg? Not counting Coronel, we'll say the jury is still out on him.

Possibly, maybe I'm blanking on someone, but Rza has been the most effective Global loanee in recent memory.
