I had these tonight. After being exposed to the hardcore west coast brewing style for so many years, it's hard to get excited about Japanese beers. They tend to be subtle in approach and live squarely in the session drinking zone of beer. Still, theses were notable. Japanese craft brewing is in it's infancy so I am pro all of it. The Snow Weizen was the most surprising since it was good, and I hate Weizen type beers. I am guessing others who like the Weizen style will find it unrewarding. The Sunrise was different than most generic American beers, but just as drinkable. It was sweet and dark at the same time, sort of like Newcastle, except good.

Rogue Ales brewmaster, John Maier, has completed his 15,000 brew! Rogue is releasing Brew 15,000, a Belgian Stout, in a ceramic swing top bottle hand numbered and signed by John Maier. Only 1,515 bottles will be released, each with a certificate of authenticity.

Purchased a bottle of this, had a caramel sweet taste to it, went down real smooth, wish it was sold locally so the shipping costs would make it cheaper.

Where did you have those Japanese brews?

The Far Bar in Little Tokyo probably has them. Some of them on draft too!
