The Gs first game since Donovan announced he'll be retiring at the end of the season.

Starters:  Penedo; Gargan, Gonzalez, AJDLG, Rogers; Ishizaki, Sarvas, Juninho, Donovan; Keane, Zardes

Subs:  Rowe, Dunivant, Meyer, Leonardo, Husidic, Jamieson IV, Hoffman

CRAP - 17 minutes in, with the Gs dominating possession, Wondolowski scores off a counterattack.

28 minutes in, ZARDES equalizes off a rebound!

And then a couple minutes later, they give up another counterattack goal by Perez Garcia.  Fucking shit.

48 minutes in, OMAR heads in a corner!

Now, let's watch the fucking counter.

Husidic in for Sarvas at 79 minutes.

Jamieson in for Ishizaki at 81 minutes.

Hoffman in for Gargan at 88 minutes.

Bah, game ends 2-2.  Keane had an apparent game winner in stoppage time called back for pulling an SJ player's shirt.  On the other hand, I see a team where Zardes is a confident, eager finisher (sometimes even overly so, but that's better than too much hesitation), but no one else is.  Gs outshoot the Smurfs 24-3 but can't get the win.

At Columbus next Saturday.

Ugh.  Inability to finish defined the game for the G's.  Gave away to 2 points.

Well at least Alan Gordon won't be able to score on us anymore.
