Hate to get right down to brass tacks...

How much do we need to create the permanent banner?

Board meeting tomorrow should determine it when we have all the quotes presented to us, but should be in the region of $1-1.5k. Right now we've raised almost $300.

Donated tonight! :)
I AM A FAN OF THE CHICAGO FIRE. AS SUCH I BELIEVE YOUR TEAM IS INFERIOR TO OURS IN EVERY SINGLE WAY. IN FACT, I HEARD THAT YOUR TEAMS FANS COME FROM LOW-INCOME NEIGHBORHOODS AND HAVE HAD SEXUAL INTERCOURSE WITH FAMILY MEMBERS. IN CONTRAST AND IN SPITE OF ACTUAL EVIDENCE I BELIEVE THAT YOUR FANS HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN A FAIR AMOUNT OF SEXUAL ACTIVITY INVOLVING LIVESTOCK. OUR SUPPORTERS GROUP'S POWER OF RHETORIC IS SO MUCH MORE POWERFUL THAN YOURS. IN FACT OUR FANS HAVE HAD A ROMANTIC INTERLUDE WITH YOUR GOALKEEPER'S WIFE IN WHICH FELLATIO WAS PERFORMED FORTHWITH OVER A PERIOD OF HOURS. WE THEN PAID HER FOR HER SERVICES. I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO INFORM FANS THAT OUR SUPPORTERS GROUP CONSUMES LARGE AMOUNTS OF ALCOHOL AND NARCOTICS IN AN EFFORT TO SHOW HOW POWERFUL AND FRIGHTENING WE CAN BE IN AN EFFORT TO INSTILL PSYCHOLOGICAL FEAR AMONG OPPOSING PLAYERS.

Lets do this.

Pitch in, even a few bucks. It really is going to come down to that.

We can make this happen and have a lasting element for our arsenal.

It is well worth anything you can give.

WHO'S THE BEST?

Pitch in to prove it. It's gonna be awesome.

Quite honestly, we need to order the materials for these very large permanent section overheads on Monday, and we simply don't have the cash right now. The cost is $1,560 and we've raised $350.

Cashflow is an issue mainly because of the schedule: buses for Toronto and KC cost over $10,000 plus over $6,000 for tickets, and given the schedule we have to pay for those very soon. We are also investing in merch for the season: $1300 for tshirts and $5k or so on scarves.

So we are in something of a bind cashflow-wise, which will improve after April -- unfortunately, too late for home opener tifo.

Find a way to raise $10, even if you just collect $1 each from your friends or collect the grimy pennies from your jeans. If 100 of you do it, we'll be fine.

These banners will be reusable, so it's an investment for more than one game, and it's something we'd like to do at the opener, especially with a new coach and new players.

Well I already sent some in. I wish I could get a bit more together, but it just can't happen.

At the risk of being out-of-line, I'll open my trap.

If it's really just a cash flow issue, then rather than asking for donations, consider speeding up your cash flow. For instance, (and again, I haven't paid enough attention to know if this is the case), start collecting revenues for your bus trips, etc. This would speed up your cash collections and reduce the cash flow crunch while not forcing fans to give additional unbudgeted funds as a donation if they want to see the TIFO for opening day.

Just my two cents.

I think the issue is that, with limited funds, the board probably does not want to start attributing travel funds to other areas if they don't absolutely have to.  I'm sure they're also trying to get the best deal for these things- which obviously takes some time.

NOTE: just IMO- others can correct, refute or explain as needed...
