#1339070 2019 "Super"Draft

Posted by MetroFanatic on 14 January 2019 - 03:32 PM

Jared Stroud was picked 83rd last year, and could potentially be a first team player down the line. Stupid to pass up on free picks.

It's Moreno to the Fire.

Disappointing, really liked having the guy back.

He's had his chances -- and when the team needed a striker in midseason, they promoted White.

I kinda like the idea of drafting 3 central defenders. If one of them works out to be a capable backup, you've done good.

That last striker from Fordham was ok.

He is German, wonder if he counts as international.

#1338815 2019 Schedule

According to Ben Baer, calculating home and away opponent's points in 2018, we have the easiest schedule in the league this year.

Because we don't have to play ourselves. (As opposed to say Orlando, who doesn't have to play... Orlando.)

Just the 2 games vs NYCFC? What changed?

An extra team in the East. Looks like we now play everyone twice.

Is now the GM in Toronto! Hope they don't run out of pants...

MLS draft is becoming more like the nhl/MLB draft. The mai. Purpose is to fill out the reserve/b Teams

And yet, there are still quality contributors. For instance, Julian Gressel, who was a major part of Atlanta's run, was the 7th overall pick 2 years ago. He is an outlier, of course, but quality is still out there...

Especially for our USL team.

#1338339 Playoff format changes next year

The only format which would favor us is abolishing the playoffs altogether.

DeLeon goal vs Crew was clutch.

His PK was even more clutch!

If he plays, would be our first player born in Mississippi:

#1338137 2018-2019 Offseason Thread

Posted by MetroFanatic on 12 December 2018 - 06:17 PM

Meanwhile in Columbus:

https://www.mlssocce...ctor-ali-curtis

"You're last interview included 300 pages. This has 299. Can you tell me what has changed?"

"Previosly page 1 was to fire the head coach and replace him with someone who would stab me in the back a couple years later."

Hope Columbus malls don't run out of pants.

#1338019 Amro Tarek

Posted by MetroFanatic on 11 December 2018 - 04:32 PM

Today, we lost Ndam, 30K difference in salary. We got Tarek, international slot, 50K allocation.

Seems like a good tradeoff?
