Wonder if the fact that he didn't have the UEFA licence is the reason he isn't already coaching Salzburg?
Let's Go Buffalo!!!

omg the sky is falling.

probably he is putting in place to allow for future coaching opportunities.

Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

If you were in his position you'd be doing the same. Let's be honest, no matter how much we enjoy our jobs everybody keeps an eye out in case something better comes along ....

I think it's the type of thing a coach would typically do in the offseason.

Unless the plan is to leave and join Salzburg during their offseason. Then he'd have to take the course before the summer...

Agreed. Got no problem with him doing this, just don't do it during a game week preparation. Do it in the offseason or during a bye week or something like that. Don't prioritize that over our games.

Good, if Armas or Woly takes over, I'm fine with it. Both are local guys.

RIP Guillermo Romulo, Alexander Francis Orig, Celenio Eleazar, and my Mom, Resurreccion Eleazar.

RIP Cesar Castello, Mike Vallo, Glenn Stampiglia, Bob Paquette, and Warren Lee

Gee, sounds like some sort of "coaching emergency".

Like Batman responding to Commissioner Gordon activating the "Bat beacon" in Gotham.

If they could, they'd go to strip clubs and throw naked women at money."

2nd the sentiment that if Armas or Woly replace Jesse, I really don't care what he does right now as he's basically one foot out the door at the point. I don't know if they'll fire Garcia or if he's got a deal lined up to leave himself, but it's a matter of when not if Jesse leaves for the Salzburg gig.

Unless the plan is to leave and join Salzburg during their offseason. Then he'd have to take the course before the summer...

This is true...  It is all strange and I feel like this makes a lot of sense.

I do think Marsch would be a loss... The biggest thing form any coach in any sport is just knowing what you're looking at.  Like 10 people can watch a game and come away with 10 different opinions on who played well and who didn't.  The best coaches can take in all of that information and make the right decisions.

Who knows if Armas can do that... And who knows if Armas can breed the type of teamwork and family environment that Marsch did.  Too many people around here (and even in soccer in general) see a coach as someone who just picks formation and throws out players like it's some kind of video game. It amazes me sometimes in comparison to other sports. The good coaches have to know what they are looking at, motivate guys, and basically be a psychologist.

Salzburg has been playing really well so I'm not quite sure why they are in such a rush to change coaches.

Agree mostly, but this season I don't see the "family environment" from the last two years. The way the Dax thing went down, which was all business, kind of makes the anything Marsch says about the team being a family ring hollow.

I think the Salzburg coach wants out more than Austria wants him out.
