Need to put that ] back!

When it comes to European soccer, just take my world for it.

Europe is not the world!

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Care to cite some sort of source or are we just supposed to take your word for it?

As Yogi said, you could look it up.

Its been over a month since hes been announced.

Has there been any updates from the tram or Hammlett on this? Is he in the country? Is he finishing up working with Wolves? Did he actually start his new job yet?

This is one of the weirdest things I can ever remember.

The New York Red Bulls previously kicked around Major League Soccer as the MetroStars with limited success. But after transforming under a new banner in 2005, the Red Bulls have become a force to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference. The club has made leaps of progress since its previous incarnation and now has its focus on bringing the league title to New York. Perhaps self-quarantining somewhere.

would have made a great thread title today.

Thelwell did an interview on TheAthleticUK Wolves podcast. Focuses a lot on his time with Wolves, so maybe not that interesting for a RBNY fan.

https://twitter.com/...9060614144?s=21

He was in England at the time of the interview so dont know if hes back in NJ yet.

Can see why he was hired, seems like a practical and well reasoned man, transfer philosophy seems to align with RBNY (scout for players that fit in with the culture of the club and share the clubs values and ambitions).

Hope coming from a football culture like England and coupled with the new scouting department there will be less wasted transfer windows, although with the circumstances of this season I dont know what the expectations are for the summer.

What can a new leader say upon taking over?
1. We are going to keep the same plan.
2. We are going to make changes.
3. We are going to assess, then 1 or 2.
Do any of these statements reassure us?

To add to Jake's point, the quote above is management speak 101. Literally no one would ever say they are looking to add a player who won't fit in the culture or doesn't share the ambitions of the club.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure he's a smart guy and also have high hopes for his tenure. Just saying that interviews with boilerplate platitudes do nothing to convince me one way or the other.

What would be reassuring and reasonable , that a person in his position could say?

His hiring is reassuring . What he does and when and the $ he has - to be seen.

Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

I have a 300-page plan?

His hiring is reassuring. What he does and when and the $ he has - to be seen.

Adding a name in the FO is not reassuring.
Look back at the Metro/RB lists of GMs & HCs.
As for money, the last few years have shown that little,
if anything, is coming this way from RB Global.
Dieter is 76 & has never been to RBNY.
The focus is on RBL & RBS, & will remain so.

i'm guessing Thelwell will be given TWO Nordstrom Rack credit cards to shop for new players, rather than the one card Hamlett used.

Ali Curtis: "Did somebody say Nordstrom Rack?"

If you scan YouTube looking for Bradley Wright-Phillips, youll find numerous goal compilations, a few interviews and, eventually, an excerpt from the grime mixtape series Lord of the Mics.
