Its a salary cap league guys, hard to afford Buckmaster and $eagri$ts wages.

(Kidding, but do wonder how much more expensive Seagrist became after Taxi transfer. Have to imagine it would have been cheaper to sign him when Taxi was on roster.)

Or maybe they had to find money to fund Lades new position?

The Buck stops here!

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

I doubt it. Seagrist didn't exactly have many options. He can sign for what RBNY offers, he can try to find a deal in Europe, or he can hold out and hope that another MLS team can somehow trade for his rights.

Well they fucked Buckmaster over pretty hard. I mean he wasn't very good or anything but they threw him in right into the mixer when he obviously wasn't ready. Could have spent the whole year with RB2 and became a decent MLS player. Not his fault Armas had his hissy fit with Murillo.

This one's not on Armas, some guys just aren't good enough. He was a second round draft pick, not an academy stud.

Lol

as said previously the Buck stopped.

Good luck to him

so does it work for a player - do they get any salary for a bit or just unemployment?

Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

Armas didnt have to call him a lock down defender.

And going all the way back to the summer of 2018 we should have had another good outside back on the roster, which would have both given us cover at a higher talent level than Buck and would have allowed Buck to stay down at the USL level and develop.

Total failure on management.

We had Lade in 2018, he wasnt bad as a backup at that point.

Perhaps a USL squad?

Why not? Coaches use the media, its part of their job. Not every quote they put on record is done with the fans in mind, and that's totally fine.

Quite frankly it makes Armas look like a fool and he lost a tremendous amount of credibility.

When he says something about any player in the future, people and especially me, literally wont listen.

You dont call a scrub, a lock down defender. You can say things like, hes a young player with a lot of potential.

Hes worked really hard at RBII to earn this shot and we have high hopes for him,

He players eith a lot of tenacity we see improvements every game.

To call him a lock down defender was just stupid. Made him look like a jerk.

Im sure other players were killing him in practice. Then they hear the coach calling him a lock down defender. Afterwards, they just look at each other, roll their eyes and laugh.

The New York Red Bulls previously kicked around Major League Soccer as the MetroStars with limited success. But after transforming under a new banner in 2005, the Red Bulls have become a force to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference. The club has made leaps of progress since its previous incarnation and now has its focus on bringing the league title to New York. I think you're all wrong, buckmaster just wasn't down with the togetherness.

Sometimes I think the entire Red Bull existence has been some 19 year old kids football manager save file he only plays when he comes home drunk. - 'Mibabalou'

Armas is FOS.  This just cements that notion. He's over his head and knows it.  Must be very embarrassing to him to cut a "lock down defender" after jettisoning Kemar and Murillo.  Kemar could have stayed with a salary adjustment.

There are approximately 1 billion other things he could have said other than lockdown defender. Especially after a poor performance.

A week after giving up a penalty and right after he was at fault for another goal.

You guys are still talking as if you are the intended audience of a coach's every comment to the media. You're not.

A coach's decisions speak loudly enough for me. So often they're either too strategic or just plain uncomfortable talking to the media to actually learn anything meaningful. What actually changes if he says Buckmaster is just OK instead of a lockdown defender? Nada...
