I feel like we end up having to depend on our 3rd and 4th CB's every. single. season. Do we really have worse luck with this than other teams or does the stats show this is normal for everyone?

I don't know about stats, but I'd wager most teams have the same depth issues on the backline.  Think about it, we've claimed three Shields in the last six years whereas the majority of teams have won zero trophies. The depth (and the salaries) have been improving year after year. A Connor Lade coming out of college today will probably never see first team soccer.  The problem is that Lade sticks around until Nealis, Buckmaster, etc., are ready.  I'm not a fan of the Nealis bashing. Unfortunately he's being forced into service when what he needs is an entire year with RBII.  The FO did well picking up Tarek, but it's not enough.

Not too many other teams consistently have 1 or more CBs called up to the NT (Miazga, Long, Parker). Don't think the injuries have been out of the ordinary on the whole, except maybe Baah's year+ out, which is obviously not a typical experience.

Yep. And as a whole, we have to be the only team that consistently has 3/4 or 4/4 of their starting back line called up.

IIRC There was some bullshit last year where they called 3 MLS players out of the entire squad and Long and Parker were two of the 3.

Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos.

I wish the mods would change the title of this thread. It keeps reminding me that Armas played for the Chicago Fire.

Your suggestion?
Fire The Current Coach is a thread tradition here.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

How is this roster his fault?

Fact is this team hasn't had any improvements in far too long.

The same guys taking reds has nothing to do with the coach? The constant formation changes and lack of pressing so often? The fact that weve only gone into 4 halftimes with the lead due to consistent slow starts?

I dont want him fired but there are definitely reasons for concern.

This season most every win feels like an accident, and every loss is same old Metro. This is the first season in several years that I, as a long-time season ticket holder (99) have no confidence in the tactics employed or the body language of most of the players. I think thats on the coach. Yeah, the roster needs work, and that falls on Hamlett, but Marsch was in the same boat and did much better. Of course I dont want him fired, but Armas doesnt seem to have that quality to get the most out of these players.

This feels like '17 again. Too many clusterfucks, injuries and absences for key guys, etc. We got to USOC final in '17 though.

RIP Guillermo Romulo, Alexander Francis Orig, Celenio Eleazar, and my Mom, Resurreccion Eleazar.

I don’t think this feels like anything in the last 5 years. We rarely dictate play at all and under Marsch we almost always did. And Marsch had a roster that was constantly turning over. He was just able to develop guys and constantly back fill. Now it feels like none of the guys we have improve.

Season tickets are paid for but I’m speaking w my wallet. No concessions and no 2020 season tickets without improvement to roster and Armas on unemployment line.
