I'd also be pretty checked out if I was Murillo. Rza's salary got a serious cut.

Jorgensen certainly isn't earning that paycheck.

For real. He made the MLS All Star team last year and he makes less than Connor fucking Lade.

Remember the days when you would have maybe a couple guys in the $250 -350 range, plus a DP or two, and the rest of the regular starters were barely over $100k?   I remember thinking when Dax got like $350 or $400 or whatever it was, "good for him, finely getting paid real money."

And now, we have 5 players making more than the max budget charge of $530,000.

That's tied for third-fewest in the league.

The salary growth in the last few years has been terrific.

Article says that MLS 2014 average salary was $138K.
Now, it is $346K, 150% higher.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

$8.3 million in total salaries, which is bottom 3 in the league. That could have been one of the higher payrolls in the league several years ago.

To further the 2014 comparison, compare this year's RBNY roster to the 2014 Galaxy and Sounders, the MLS Cup and Supporters' Shield winners. Both of those teams had high end talent, but the overall rosters don't compare in the slightest, despite this year's RB squad having the third lowest payroll in the league.

This forum apparently doesn't support the Euro symbol, but you can still jam a £ in as one of the e's.

I remember the days Joe Vide was making $12,500.....and he was outplaying Claudio Reyna.

The New York Red Bulls previously kicked around Major League Soccer as the MetroStars with limited success. But after transforming under a new banner in 2005, the Red Bulls have become a force to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference. The club has made leaps of progress since its previous incarnation and now has its focus on bringing the league title to New York. I would love to see a yearly salary breakdown of a guy like Dax, Chris Wondolowski or Kyle Beckerman, someone who has been in the league for years and through the various stages of MLS salary growth

MLSPU has the data going back to 2007.

Wondolowski
2007: 30,000
2008: 33,000
2009: 34,650
2010: 48,000
2011: 175,000
2012: 300,000
2013: 600,000
2014: 650,000
2015: 675,000
2016: 700,000
2017: 800,000
2018: 800,000
2019: 800,000

Someone else can do that for other players, because that was a lot of work on a phone. Pretty crazy rise though.
