I believe this one is, in our vice president's words, a big fucking deal.
Starters: Penedo; Gargan, Gonzalez, AJDLG. Rogers; Husidic, Sarvas, Juninho, Donovan; Keane, Zardes
Subs: Rowe, Meyer, Leonardo, Walker, Ishiaki, Villarreal, Gordon
Rogers is starting, and Leonardo isn't. I like it.
Tough, chippy, nail-biting first half, with the ice broken at 45 minutes by, um, Husidic? Yes, HUSIDIC!
Four minutes out of halftime, SARVAS chips everyone from the top of the box, assisted by, that's right, Husidic. The other funny thing about that sequence is that, right before the corner kick that started it off, I was feeling grumpy with Zardes for settling for the corner instead of attacking the goal.
And at 68 minutes, as the Gs were starting to look comfortable bunkering the rest of the way, Dempsey gets one back. Crap.
Three minutes later they forget to mark Neagle, who ties it. CRAP.
Then Gordon comes in for Husidic.
Omar gets red at 87 minutes? That's gonna hurt.
Speaking of hurting: Leonardo comes in for Keane. Yeah, this is gonna be great.
Game ends 2-2. So, if the Gs want to win the Shield, they'll need to win on the rug next weekend. And Leonardo instead of Omar. So definitely no bunkering.
