With White being one of the few bright spots last season, I'd think a high priced striker would be the last thing management would target.

White is going to have a massive reversion to the mean this season after scoring on 75% of his shots on target last season.  There's no way he does that, or anything close to it, in 2020.

If this team wants to be trophy-contending good and not maybe-scrape-into-the-playoffs good, they need to drop big money on a top-tier forward.

Eintracht are on a run of bad form lately.
Only 2W-1D-8L in their last 11 matches,
although those wins were over Bayern & Arsenal!

Arsenal would lose to half of MLS right now, so that's not much of a feather in their cap.

Remind me what BWP's and Luke Rodgers resumes were?

Signed in 2013 and 2011.  Different league now when other teams are dropping 8 figures on transfers.

#1357460 Murillo to be sold, Olosunde to return?

I don't know if anyone has recently tossed around the idea of Olosunde coming back to shore up the defensive corps, but I'm currently watching him get repeatedly torched by a 5th-division team in the FA Cup.  Seems to be a massive downgrade from Duncan.

Likely starter for them.  Best of luck, Luis.

Does it even matter? How often are MLS starting goaltenders injured for long stretches of time? I bet this guy barely plays for the first team, just how Meara barely did when Robles was here.

This team is going to suck next year anyway, so if we lose a few games because of a lousy backup GK, it really won't matter.

That's literally the point of the expression, dude.

Lol thank you, I'm dying over here.

BWP has one bad year after five consecutive 20-goal seasons, and it's time to move on? I don't agree with that.

BWP has scored 3 goals in his last 2,200 minutes, dating back to September 2018.  He turns 35 in March.  BWP has been a great player for this club for a long time, but Father Time is undefeated.  It is absolutely time to move on.

Davis (8 who cant play the 6)

I got into a lengthy argument with someone the other day who was adamant that Davis was THE answer for the national team at defensive midfield.  They clearly haven't ever watched him play - it was immensely frustrating.

I think I'm in the camp of why bother with a TAM striker.  White when he was healthy put up really solid numbers.  Between him and Barlow, we should get solid performance up there.

Firm disagree.

The best teams in MLS spend big on strikers because a great finisher can paper over a lot of cracks in the rest of the team.  City doesn't win the East without Heber, LAFC doesn't win the Supporters Shield without Vela, Seattle doesn't win MLS Cup without Ruidiaz.

I also think everyone should expect some regression in White's numbers next season.  He had 12 shots on target (29 attempts) this season and scored 9 of them.  That rate is not sustainable.

i'm not a big Trapp fan but i think he's pretty different from Davis.  He is less of a defensive presence but his range of passing is a massive upgrade from Davis.  Davis doesn't really have the ability to hit line breaking balls, which Trapp can do.  Based on our lower confrontation line style a player who could pass from deep like Trapp actually would help us a lot.  Too many times Kaku has to come back very deep to retrieve the ball because it takes to long for us to start plays in transition.  This is why Dax and Sacha were great together because Dax allowed Sacha to occupy space higher up the field not worrying about starting buildup.  If we played more of a 4-3-3 I wouldn't mind having Trapp but in our current 4-2-3-1 setup thats a no from me.  Not enough defensive cover

Trapp's passing is maybe the most overrated individual attribute in the league.  He has 5 assists in the last two seasons, 4 if MLS counted assists normally.  I know that's not the only way to judge someone's distribution, but in a league that counts 2 assists per goal, you'd expect those numbers to be way better for a deep-frying playmaker.

So, because he doesn't really contribute to an attack and because, like you said, he can't really defend nor cover space, he would be totally useless here, just like he is with the national team.

Honestly, if RB isn't going to spend the money to be a title contender, it's time to blow it up.  It's unfair to players like Lawrence or Long to keep them around on a middling MLS team if they have interest from abroad.

If RB does decide to spend the money, then the best move would be to bring in 3 brand-new DPs.  Kaku is good and all, but he's not a massive game-changer.  Let BWP, Kaku, and Sims go, and replace them with a DP striker, winger, and defensive midfielder.

With spending:

Royer - TAM - DP
Lawrence - Long - Parker - Duncan or new
Robles or Meara

Without spending:

Royer - Rza - new
CCJ - Davis
new - Nealis - Parker - Duncan

Swope Park Rangers took a 3-0 lead in the 34th over Louisville which would be great for us. It's now 3-3 less than ten minutes later. Super.

From a 3-0 lead to an 8-3 loss.  That is just remarkable.

Did they get participation trophies too?

Yeah, those 5 year olds were the ones demanding trophies in T-ball, not their annoying parents who believed that their hellspawn was something exceptional.

game tied at 0 in the 85th minute. do you want Alex Muyl fumbling over his own 2 feet in the corner because he has no left foot? or would you rather have DE7 there try to make something out of nothing 1v1?

I think Muyl sucks, and the obvious answer to your question is Muyl.
