In the grand scheme of things yes, life goes on. Shit happens.

Why is there so much anger over the sanctions?

1) Because in ESCs case it took the front office a week and a half to hand down its punishment. Another full home game went before the front office decided to do something. If it was *that* egregious then it should've been dealt with immediately, don't you think?

2) There was no warning, no "next time you do something you'll be sanctioned," no nothing. If there was some sort of warning and the SGs decided to say "fuck you" to the front office and do what they wanted then fine, whatever. But there was nothing. And to sanction two sections of supporters who live, breathe, and die for the club, travel all over to away games, who paint tifo before games, who hang banners to help provide atmosphere, over something innocuous is, frankly, bullshit.

3) Because now it's starting to come off that the actions of one SG can mean sanctions for the others (I'm not saying it will happen, but it can). In the front office's statement it mentions a "pattern of behavior" due to the actions of ESC and GSU. What "pattern of behavior?" A topical sign by one and a "fuck Ohio" from the other? That's a pattern? VA cannot control the actions of GSU, GSU cannot control the actions of ESC, ESC cannot control the actions of VA, and vice versa. The behavior isn't a pattern. It's isolated. And *if* that's the road the front office wants to go down then the SGs (and supporters) have every right to make their voices heard.

So to you it may not be worth the anger. But to others it very well could be.

1) Who cares? Doesn't matter.

2) South Ward isn't immune to sanctions. The club cares about what is going on in their stadium that they own, not where you are watching the team out of state. The communication was poor but maybe chalk it up to a one-off mistake?

I don't think it helps too when you have ESC releasing a statement calling for more amicable relations between the SGs and the FO, but at the same time, an unhinged capo/board member on Twitter is directly addressing tweets toward the team calling them "corporate cunts" and telling them to "eat a bag of dicks". How can the club go into any conversation with a positive outlook when one party is acting that immature and childish?

3) No, this is one incident and too early to tell if that is the case.

Going back to what I said earlier, it would be wise to pick the battles appropriately. If the SGs are going to bitch and moan about every little thing the FO will start to tune them out because they know that whatever they do, positive or negative, the SGs will find something to slam them about.

Banning tifo on Dax Day is not a little thing.
This is the functional equivalent of United Airlines inconveniencing hundreds of paying customers, so that it can drag a few passengers from planes, in a pointless effort to show who is boss.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

To be fair that comparison isn't even close to being the same thing. Viking Army isn't suspended so why can't they make their own tifo?

My opinion is I can't wait for this Dax stuff to be over and done with. Sam didn't get a tifo and I don't really think Dax needs one either.

So the only way people believe they can pay tribute to Dax, if they choose to do so, is with a tifo? You can still sing for him and cheer.

It's not like the stadium is going to be tossing out people who make any mention of his name.

When have you seen a tifo pulled up in 102?

No. However, a tifo was planned. Perhaps other tribute banners as well. Tifo is something ESC does for almost every home game. It was something we did to honor JPA. It was something that we were going to do for Dax.
In that tifo, is a message for all our players: become a team legend, and be honored upon your return, even in an opposing shirt. That tifo image would last forever in our hearts, and hopefully in his. You are not forgotten.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

They can't make a large banner and pull it up over the section like they do with red/white striped banner after goals?

Or the front office could let them put a banner up on the pulley system if they were the ones who made it.

Saw on FB that the VA are putting together a tifo (I can neither confirm or deny that they are receiving the "illegal" assistance of other SG's). Good on them for stepping up.

Dax.. love the guy to death and all that, and he deserves a round of applause tomorrow for sure, but a tifo?

Seems a tad bit much. Can we get over former players already?

Looks like others love Dax more than you do.

It's not done for everyone.

Wrong game for the club to punish any of the SGs.

People loved Dax way more than I ever did. There's nothing wrong with that, I just was never as high on the guy as some. We're 2nd in the league, so maybe he ends up being an irrelevant cog anyways. Time will tell.
