Just wanted to say again, Happy Australia Day, even though it's not at all comparable to the Fourth of July like you suggested.
Just to reiterate, Americans are celebrating actual independence from the crown. Australia day is like our Columbus day. Celebrating somebody accidentally landing on a piece of land.

Dave I'm sorry about Harold Holt, but I'm happy for Melbourne's victory.

:D

You're just adding to the collection of spankings you're going to receive when I see you next ...

PS: If it's any consolation, many indigenous Australians refer to Australia Day as "Invasion Day".

PPS: The sooner we are a republic, the better.

The great Harold Holt is remembered/honoured by the SDC. "Drowning" (read: CIA elimination) is such a terrible way to go. We made this banner/picture for him last year ...

First Asian World Cup qualifier was held in Melbourne last night. Back at work this morning, head hurts, great night, we won 3-0.

Nice!
Good to see a turnout like that in another "non-soccer" country.
(Nice seats too.)

Yeah ditto. It took him a while to adjust to our league Ben. He arrived and it wasn't until around the 10th game that he really hit his straps. He's a class player, as you Seppo's would attest to - he scored against you lot in qualifiers for Costa Rica I believe, putting them into the WC.

Arsonist: Too true mate, though in Melbourne it's a bit different cos we are a bit nuts for football/soccer ... we average crowds of around 30K per game for our club, 51K rocked up for the national team against an unknown Qatar. Sydney couldn't attract a crowd... unless it's fucking LA Galaxy or some sort of gimmicky shit. :D
