if that Teteh guy doesn't work out.  Mason Toye -

https://www.mlssocce...-charlie-davies

Should the Loons opt not to play Toye, Davies proposed a pair of interesting trade partners — Atlanta United and the New York Red Bulls.

A move to the Red Bulls would be a homecoming for Toye, a South Orange, N.J. native who was a standout at Seton Hall Prep HS. Brian White and Tom Barlow have been the primary forwards for Chris Armas.

According to Goff, we're playing the Scum home and away. Other teams in our "group" are Revs, slavers, Worms, and Cincy (again...)

They can do the "pod thing," letting people sit on groups of 2 or 4 with 2 or 3  seats between groups.

we have expanded pods recently.  groups with 20 seats between them.

We could say come to a game a TARP off your own pod!!!

Maybe we could give the fans bubbles instead of having bubble soccer on the field.

I don't care if they do some sort of limited capacity this season if it happens but the MLS Cup Final is the only thing that I'd 100% go to this year without question and there's no a chance in hell of us making it anyway. I'd debate the playoffs since I haven't missed a knockout game live in a very long time but there's 0 chance of me attending a regular season game this year unless we can clinch the shield, again no chance in hell that's happening either lol

- NYRB miraculously host MLS Cup 2020 that is postponed for days due to weird late season tropical storm and then weird early season snowstorm that tears up the field and we lose to Portland on an own goal (assisted by Tarek oddly enough since he seems to assist everything this year) who is getting pressured by Yimmi Charra and Diego Valerie (who came off the bench).

The game also ends up as as a super spreader event.

Hows that for a That's So Metro moment?

Well NYCFC will probably be paying rent for RBA anyway, so we could probably break even even with 500 at RBNY matches.

Not that that's a reason to do it.

Double headers!
NYCFC will feel right at home!!

#1368454 Formations and tactics

Posted by Metrohoboken on 30 July 2020 - 08:05 AM

slow day on the board so

just scanned this article https://www.onceamet...back-tournament

deploying Kaku in a static wing role (where, especially in the 4-4-2 formation, his role becomes devolved into a source of layoffs to overlapping fullbacks) and centering the more limited playmaking and delivery skills of Daniel Royer. Cristian Casseres, signed two years ago after shining in South American youth tournaments as a deep-seated ball-spraying holding midfielder, continues to be deployed in a confused box-to-box role that does not flatter his more deficient dribbling and off-ball skills. I

Noticed the points about formation and tactics and the lack of effectiveness of Kaku Royer (+everyone else) in the last game/games.

With the current squad (we all want additions/improvements/4 Young DPs/CBs not assisting on other teams goals week in week out) what would be the best formation/tactic?

42222 or back to 4231?

I like the idea of 4222 but it did not help  left acres of space v Cbus and ineffective v Cinti with what little we had to go on.

Would a return to 4231 and some different tactics help ?

---------White-----

Royer - Kaku - Valot

----------Davis CCJ------

Pendant Long CB TBD Duncan

You could even go

Kaku-----Valot - Myul as Myul is strong defensively that allows Duncan to go foward (assuming the CB isn't assisting the other team)

Also, with Pendant staying back a bit (for now hopefully as he adjusts) this would allow Kaku more freedom to roam which seems to suit him.

Corfe has a real interesting story.  from man city, then goes to a lower profile school but between Wright State and Ocean City has dominated at those levels.  Looking forward to seeing his development.

This team has several more players of intrigue than the 2018 and 2019 team.  Hopefully Tolkin can get some time with them since we got knocked out early.

players like Corfe are interesting - top flight training to US college (Valot Jack Harrison Dom Dwyer orobably others)

they have good knowledge and may need maturity, right set up/level or just another break to be successful.

good luck!

I believe this kid is the real  deal , looked great in the past 2 games . Deri Corfe has also looked good , he was Championships Player of the Week for Week 5

Anyone think he gets first team minutes this year?

Seeing all these other teams with 16 17 yr old players makes me wonder or does he follow Adams full season at NYRB2 with plan for next year.

I would otherwise agree except I just don't see why Thelwell would leave a bonafide, rising EPL team to run a skeleton squad in the US.

issues at Wolves, political fight got forced out writing on the wall, wanted to get out of wolverhampton 3 year plan to NY to Leipzig to global domination.

all of the above - i

He was just not a fit in the Chris armas low scoring system.

Funny
Somehow I dont think that was Chris decision
Many people think Chris is not a good coach but Im going to guess he is not insane to let go of BWP if he had $ and roster spot  to keep him.

Happy for BWP gutted for the team
