Good for Grafer, I remember he was enrolled in culinary school and randomly saw him by the Astor Place cube a decade or so ago. Sang him the song from a street over, he raised his fist as a "Thank you", while keeping on walking.

Jozy should get used to it since he failed to get USA to the world cup.

Every time he steps on the field. He will be reminded abt the failure. If he doesnt like it, then he should ask to be loaned to another club

Great article. This guy can be the next Donovan or even better player of this following generation. Kids will be wearing his jerseys. Shame he won't be going next summer but if we can add more talent around him then we will make noise in Qatar. Pulisic for captain.

Pretty telling that he's urging (young) players to challenge themselves in Europe.

Once again, challenging the grass roots development in the US and the pay-to-play model. Our youth players need to get challenged in those early years. But at the same time, Pulisic does make a point that MLS teams need to give their Academy players more playing time. Europe is not the answer, but it is definetly a prove path for a successful and competitive development of players.

that's what reserve teams are for. every season, we've had academy players test themselves against actual pros.

This is class.  This is work ethic.  Jozy embodies all that is wrong with the "star" treatment that occurs with kids in our country's soccer system.  This is a MUST READ!.

Wait, doesn't he have a European passport that made his move possible? Most young American players don't have that luxury.

It's only when you're under 18 that it matters. By FIFA rules, when you are under 18 years old you cannot make an international transfer unless:

  1.

    • The player's parents move to the country in which the new club is located for reasons not linked to soccer.
    • The transfer takes place within the territory of the European Union.
    • The player lives outside the country, but no further than 50km from a national border. In addition, the club with which the player wishes to be registered in the neighboring association is also within 50km of that border.

Obviously talking about the ones that have the opportunity. E.g. go the Miazga route, not the Jordan Morris one. Risks are of course greater, but that's the way for the NT to become better.

Wonder if this makes him more hungry next cycle and has him step up as a leader sooner rather then later.
